Hello my fellow Chickies... I've issued myself a little scrapping challenge to help expand my style and get me out of my comfort zone. I want to do a layout in all of the different styles I can come up with. Here's my list so far:

Shabby Chic
Clean and Contempo.

I know there are LOTS more... can you guys help me define them?
some of them I know what style I want but I don't know how to define them except by the artist... like Darla style, Novita style, etc... lol.

How about Crap Thrown On a Page? That's my style ;)

Hilarious, Val!! It works for you, too ;)

How about "graphic" (like magazine ads)

I saw a huge list somewhere, once, but I don't remember where. The had a lot listed more than once, too :)

heritage? i dunno what you call all of those different styles.

you know, if darla & novita could be bottled, i'd be first in line to pick me up some of that style!! darla rocks with layering of elements, so maybe some kind of challenge where you used a minimum # of elements?

val, you crack me up, girlie!

LOL! Val!

How about Retro?

01-15-2007, 04:39 PM

How about Crap Thrown On a Page? That's my style ;)

LOL dude that is mine - look closely......hehehe....and Jenna since you brought this up and looks like everyone has some challenges - anyone game if we start an informal challenge to go outside our comfort zone per se in scrapping....just for fun.....in all these styles there is no wrong or right way of doing it....we might just learn from each other some very new ideas!

I'd love that!! It's a great way to find things that we might not have thought we could do :D

01-15-2007, 07:11 PM
Ooohh, sounds FUN! Like an outside the comfy slippers challenge!! Sounds good to me!

01-15-2007, 07:15 PM
Sinead, I love your title for it :D

01-15-2007, 07:57 PM
LOL Sinead....you are funny!

01-15-2007, 08:23 PM
That's what I'm talkin about! That would be great Darla...

01-15-2007, 08:26 PM
that's what lack of sleep will do to ya!

So, Miss Jenna...you have a captive audience! Which one are you going to start with? Maybe we'll all start with you!

Off with the slippers and on with the 1 Hour Boots!! :tongwink:

01-15-2007, 08:28 PM
and you KNOW what kind of boots I'm talking about--those ones that are rockin' to look at but heck on your feet...so bad that 1 hour is about the extent that you can wear them. So you look AWESOME! but only for an hour! lol

dude...I SO need some sleep!

01-15-2007, 08:33 PM
Sinead, that's hilarious!!! :)

01-15-2007, 08:40 PM
I DO know those boots... I have some red ones that I only look at! This is gonna be fun. I'll choose one and get us going tonight ... after I get home from work...! :)

01-15-2007, 10:18 PM
awesome!! i need a little boost, so this will be WAY fun :)

01-15-2007, 10:41 PM
OK, I've got to be honest, I really love my comfort zone!!! But I'll play along for the challenge!! :o)

01-15-2007, 10:43 PM
LOL about your red boots. I've got some that I call my 'Cool Girl Boots' (but they aren't those pretty ones with spikey heels that everyone wears now, those would be 5 min shoes for me, nevermind an hour!) but I can only wear them if I'm going to be sitting for the majority of the time! lol

01-15-2007, 11:52 PM
I have some shoes like that too, that I can only wear when I won't be doing any serious walking. But they look so nice when I leave the house!!

This should be a lot of fun. I'm looking forward to trying all of it (even freestyle, which scares the living daylights out of me!!)

Linear Design
Sepia and Black and White Photos
White or Empty Space
Font work/word art
