ok....so we're gone Saturday night...got back home around noon on Sunday....hung out in the backyard a bit...then about 30 min after we got home dh heard this noise from our fridge and I saw water leaking around it

oh not good

he turned off the water for the fridge and couldn't find a hole in the water line so who knows where the issue is ........ I placed towels down to mop up everything ...put some in the washer and then left a couple there for the little bit that was left

welllllllllll........

this morning I noticed more water in the kitchen (it's a good thing we have tile) and that our master bedroom floor has a really big super wet spot about 2 feet from the wall that's next to the fridge..............OH MY.......it's never ending water there ...I keep placing new towels there, as soon as one absorbs as much as it can, it's on to the next towel...and I've been through a ton already at it's only 9:45am ....
I've tried to use our steam vac to soak it up & it's not doing any good at all

the fridge repair guy can't get here until tomorrow morning ...and then we will most likely have to get someone to rip up our bedroom flooring .........oh, the pantry next to the fridge...water damage there too .........oh soooooo not fun!

at least I fell asleep at 8pm last night and slept for 11 hours!!!!! I guess my body is trying to catch up from all the nights when I only sleep 4 to 5 hours, which is most every night

oh....and in the middle of all this...Hudson and Griffin locked themselves in their bathroom ....they're 2.5 and 1.5 .... at least Hudson unlocked the door after I yelled a bunch .........

ok..off to hang with them and switch out more towels

I think this also calls for a blog update...don't ya think??????

My fridge did that a few months ago, my FIL used to be a Maytag repair man and he took the one hose off the back and it was plugged, causing the water to back up. It's been fine ever since. I hope the repair guy can fix it for you and GL with the floors. You've had a rough day already :sad_smile (((huggs)))

Oh NO!!! Our nemesis is water. We've had water problems in every single house or apartment we've ever had so I can completely sympathize with you!!! And the damange is NOT fun!!!

Oh my! That sure doesn't sound like fun.
LOL at the boys locking themselves in the bathroom. My dd who is also 2 1/2 loves to lock doors, too. She just usually locks it then closes it - with no one in the room to unlock it!!!

wellllllll...the fridge is fixed (YAY!).........my dh changed the filter, he guessed that hte old one was clogged & it must've been because it isn't leaking anymore..

BUT....

we're still drying out our carpet....he ripped up one corner of it & the pad is sooooo soaking wet......we'll be drying it all day tomorrow, if not longer...this is one time I'm happy we don't have a basement (hello, Phoenix), so it's just foundation under it ...... the other scary thing is the condition of our wall between the kitchen and our bedroom...who knows how it is in the middle

Oh man, what a mess? Can you rent a steam cleaner and to suck up the water? When I clean my carpets I use the cleaning solution, then clean it with just water, then leave the chamber empty and just suck up as much water as I can. I don't have padding (just a large carpet on my wood floors) and it's dry w/in 24 hours.

I remember my little sister locking herself in a room when she was about 3. My mom was PANICKED!

LOL on the basements! Yep - none here! (Oh - can't say none! There are at least 2 on our block here!)

Ugh! Glad you got your fridge fixed! What a mess!!! It's happened to my parents twice in the last few years!

What a time for them to pick to lock themselves in - not that anytime is good! :)

wellllllllll..we had water restoration people out today ......they ended up ripping out about 1/3 of our carpet padding because it was sooo soaked and to prevent mold issues .....and they ripped the baseboard out on both sides of the wall between the kitchen and our bedroom ..........now we have 3 huge fans and a dehumidifier that have to run 24/7 until they come back on Thursday to make sure it's completely dry ..............out house sounds like we're living in the dryer of a car wash NONSTOP .....happy happy joy joy
