As posted on my blog today...
Remember my woeful tale of my computer crashing? Scott took it to Best Buy on Friday. He was told it would take 4-5 days to back up and restore. We were charged $300 on the spot. The paperwork said the estimated return date was Monday. Scott called Monday and was told they were working on it and to call the next day. Scott called Tuesday and was told it was almost done and to call today. Scott called today and was told it hadn't been started yet! ARE YOU KIDDING ME!? He asked to speak to a a manager. He was told the manager would call back in 5 minutes. A half hour later the manager called back and was extremeley rude. Apparently its acceptable practice for their employees to LIE to customers. Apparently an estimated return time means nothing. Despite the fact that a back up supposedly takes DAYS, Scott was told that if we would have upgraded to the home service, it would have been done in one night. Interesting. Scott ended up going down to pick up my computer (which they probably infected with viruses) and get a refund. My Best Buy days are over and I will be sharing this story with everyone and everyone who ever considers using the Geek Squad including the BBB. I wish I had thought to check online for reviews first because since I posted at DST, I have heard countless horror stories about the horrible quality of work and poor customer service. So, all that to say this... if you choose to go there after reading this, don't say I didn't warn ya!
