Hey there! Does anybody know anything about Huntsville, Alabama? DH has an interview there in a week and we need to find otu more about it. The job came to him, so it's a bit of a suprise but potentially a good move for him. At first glance I'm assuming the schools would be better and we wouldn't have to send our kids to private school (which we'd have to do here in Montgomery because the schools are horrible).

I'd welcome any input you guys have!!

We lived in Decatur many many moons ago and Huntsville is close to there I remember. My aunt and uncle still live in Athens and it seems to me that he travels to there for work. That's of absolutely no help to you though, sorry! :)

Huntsville's not that far from Nashville, yet I've never been there! Have you checked one of the relocation service websites out there? They usually have great info all summarized for people looking to move to a new area. I don't know any specific sites off the top of my head, but I'm sure if you googled it you'd find something. Good luck to your husband if he likes the offer! :)

I've visited Huntsville a couple of times, several years ago. I know that the space technology/industry is pretty big there. (And they have some nice rugby fields, which is why I visited, not that that helps!)

Hey!!! That's where I live! You could be my friend if you want to :)

My DH grew up here and we moved here after we got married. It's really kind of a cool place, in that its "Southern" feeling, but it's kind of a melting pot. People are from all over. A lot of scientists and programmers according to DH. lol. The city school system is very good. The crime rate is pretty low. A lot of people choose to live in the smaller towns just outside of Huntsville, because it's a little cheaper, but I think the housing costs here are great. We were able to get a lot more for our money in a house than what we would have in Utah (where I'm from). It's a really nice place to live, I like it. The people are nice. We have a ton of Walmarts.... LOL. Not sure what else to say about it. But ask me anything, I'm here to help! I love the idea of being friends IRL with another digiscrapper, so you should totally come here! LOL.
