I have had MSNBC on for a few hours now. Its heartbreaking. I can never understand why this kind of thing has to happen. :(

I have been following what I can of this and am just heartbroken. I am praying for the surviving students as well as the families who lost loved ones. Such a tragedy.

We kept hearing little snippets about this on the radio at work today, it was so sad to keep hearing that the death toll was rising. Those poor families...

Yes and since I live in VA we have a lot of neighbors and some of my dh's co-workers who have kid's at that college. It's the largest college in VA. Fortunately everyone we know of who has kids there has talked to their kids and they are OK! But initially this morning it was panick mode here worrying about them!

Let me tell you, I was just the tiniest bit spooked tonight to be teaching at the university. I know, it's 3000 miles away for me, but it's just the thought.

I hate this coming week - so many bad events have their anniversaries in the next few days, and this will be added to the list (Waco, then Oklahoma City bombing, then Columbine, now this).....

dh graduated from virginia tech. he is so upset right now and is watching the news every minute he can. i feel so bad for him.
this is just such a horrible thing to have happened. all those poor families.

Rachel, I hadn't put that together with all the other shootings and Oklahoma City. I wonder how much of end-of-the-year stress puts people already in trouble, into that frame of mind?

I followed this a little yesterday. It really saddens me.
