I second that. So sorry to hear about your little one. It's so tough and it would be easier if it was us moma's that needed care wouldn't it?

Yay for sleeping longer periods! My youngest was still waking in the middle of the night until about 9 mths.
Don't worry about the beautiful chub...soon it's gonna slow waaaaaaay down. And he doesn't look like a 'buddha'...that's what we called my lil bro...rolls and rolls and still more rolls of fat. My mom said it was very hard to clean him b/c of that lol. DD2 was less than 7lbs at birth...but w/only nursing alone (no solids) reached over 16 lbs at 6mths....but her weight gain slowed waaaaaay down after she started eating solids and was under 19lbs at a year. They are all different :)
{{HUGS}} I don't know anything about that, but I hope things will go right naturally so he doesn't have to go through any surgery.

so sorry about your little guy! we'll be praying that everything goes just fine as he grows!!
and, ditto the other gals on the cereal thing! seriously...camille was in the 100% percentile on height and weight for the longest time. She was only breast-fed, until cereal was absolutely necessary and she is doing great! I think in our age of weight-consciousness, the docs sometimes err on the side of caution. Our doc is a cool, laid-back guy with the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" philosophy. he was reluctant to start cereal when i thought she was ready! all that being said, *YOU* know what's best for your little one, and if he pressures you to begin cereal before you are ready, politely tell him no. If he insists, find another doc.

hugs girl!
my nephew had surgery for his hypospadius (basically his urethral opening was not at the tip of the penis like it should be, it was on the bottom of the "head" of the penis and if you held his penis out it would pee straight "down" toward the ground-- just not even in the right spot at all!).
Poor kid had the whole family talking about his surgery--- and how during surgery they stimulated an erection and it was at a 45 degree angle (bent halfway up his penis!!) and they had to fix all of that.....
Well, he's 6 now (he was 2 at surgery date) and his stuff all works properly now-- and I know his parents are relieved it is all fixed--- it wasn't a "fun" procedure, but it wasn't as bad as they expected!
If your little guy needs the surgery you will do fine! Just remain in prayer and God will guide you all!

Oh man, poor Lucas! At least you've had a boy before so you knew that something didn't look right. When will you find out if it's going to be surgically corrected?

I would change doctors. Any doctors that suggest a 1 month old is "fat" and to start cereal is IMO not a good doctor. Also would question the doctors judgement about putting medication for acne on a baby that young AND I would check out the "case againt circumcision" forums at mothering.com, they discuss and have great information on intact boys and issues that some doctors bring up.
