On my way home from our trip to Huntsville--boy, this was an adventurous trip with Maggie's black eye and this story. lol Anyway, we were 2 exits from home when my flat tire sensor went off in the van. I checked the tire pressure gauge thingie and the tire pressure was falling rapidly. Stopped at an exit and put two cycles of air in with no positive effects. Can I also mention that it was 5:30pm--past dinner time for the girls and approaching bedtime for them as well? lovely oh, and they'd been in the car for 3 hours and Maggie had a wet diaper. fun fun fun

Anyway, instead of calling AAA and waiting for who knows how long, my brilliant DH suggested I see if the gas station had fix-a-flat. They did! We made it home. Whew! This morning, though, the tire was flat as a pancake. Now that the girls were occupied, I decided to tackle the tire so that i could take it in to a station to get it fixed. Yay for me! I feel so empowered! hehehe Now I'm off to shower and get the tire fixed. :regular_s Thanks for listening to my babbles!

wow, Sinead! I am so impressed. I have no clue how to change a tire. WTG, woman!

Years ago I had a tire blow out while I was driving. I kept driving on the darn thing until I found a gas station, completely ruined the wheel. :embaresse

Heehee! Go WOMAN GO!!!!!!! You should feel empowered!!!

In high school, the guy I dated had a flat and called me on his cell phone (cell phones were gigantic and hilarious back then -- I'm totally showing my 30-yr age). Anyway, he didn't know how to change a tire, so I changed it for him on the side of the road! Ha~!

You go Sinead!

You certainly had an eventful trip, and then to find your tyre flatter than a pancake again this morning! Uhhh that could have been the living end!

Where I live if you don't know how to change a tyre you would be waiting the better part of the day for service to come to you, thats if some kindly farmer type didn't show up on a tractor first! So I have made it a point to learn and have even changed tyres for others!

oh, kresta! this is cracking me up!! my senior year of high school i was out on a date w/ a guy that i had been seeing for awhile. we had a flat tire. and he had NO clue how to change it. so, needless to say...I changed it, no problem. needless to say, that relationship didn't work out :)

i will say that one of the best things my mom did for me was make me learn how to change a tire. before i was allowed to get my driver's license, she made me change a tire. without help. i was p.o'ed at the time, but boy was i thankful later. thanks mom!
