We're planning to get an exercise machine when we move. DH wants something to work out on at home and I want something to use when I can't make it to the Y because of scheduling/crazy girls/lol. DH wants a treadmill, but I really want an elliptical machine instead. I'm coveting a Precor like the one I use at the gym (which I burned 450 calories on today, thank you very much!), but who can afford the $2500 price tag?! Not me!
So...do any of you have an elliptical machine? Which one? What do you like/dislike about it?
Thanks, Chickies! I'm making a commitment to get it together. I've been working out consistently almost every day for the last couple of months, so I want to keep this going. :regular_s

I'm looking right now myself. Pretty sure we're going to get an elliptical machine, if only because I need something to move my arms as well (my upper half needs SERIOUS work) as my feet. I prefer the elliptical anyway, but DH doesn't care one way or the other, as long as I use it! :)
So, I'm interested in hearing what people have to say as well. Prices in the "regular" sports stores are running between $450 - $850 for decent ones, the ones under $400 sound like they'll fall apart if I get on them at my current weight... :)

We bought one a couple months ago! We looked at the sports stores, but couldn't afford those. So, we bought this one (http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5156103)from WalMart! So far, so good! It's worked for DH and I both so far...

We have a NordicTrak 938 (I had to look lol). I like that the info panel thing it has, how far you've gone, calories burned and you can adjust the incline on it. It runs on batteries. I really like it, the only thing that bothers me is that it squeaks a bit, but as soon as the hubs has some time I'm sure he can figure out how to make it not squeak so much.
I think it was about $600 at Sears, we got it last year.

I have one that we got a few years ago at Sears. It's a Proform. They don't make my model anymore, but we have bought all proform equipment because we've had such good luck with the brand and Sears often offers free delivery and installation.

We bought an elliptical trainer today. It was on sale (great deal) through today, and we are paying for delivery AND assembly. They will call us by Tuesday afternoon to arrange delivery, and I should be using it by Thursday, I hope.
Yippee!
And DH wants to get a small flat panel TV to put in front of the machine, if it doesn't end up in the loft in front of our widescreen tv.

Woohoo! The elliptical arrives tomorrow - they will both deliver AND assemble it for us. Yes, we did pay for that....but considering how badly things could go wrong if we assembled it wrong, it was worth it to us.
