hope you chicas can indulge me....i've got to vent :( please don't feel like you have to read all of this little tirade. i just have got to get this out before i explode!!
today is my 31st birthday. over the weekend DH took me out to dinner & we had cake w/ the in-laws last night at my MIL's house. so, i wasn't really expecting any kind of fanfare today, but....
i woke up this morning to the dog getting sick. dh takes him downstairs to go outside, but he gets sick on the carpet along the way. DH greets me ever so cheerfully upon returning with (and I quote), "you're gonna help clean this up, right?" i grab the paper towels and start cleaning. camille wakes up and is screaming her head off cause the carpet is a mess. vomit, crying, and general grumpiness, yay!
so, downstairs we go. i get breakfast going and camille gets into her markers. all over her outfit, face, hands, etc. thank god they're washable. she makes a mess and spills her cereal and milk. i have a much needed cup of coffee and chill for a bit. DH comes downstairs, doesn't speak a word, gets himself a bowl of cereal and goes back upstairs. even though i shouldn't, i ask, "did you forget something." "no," he says, "not yet." returns with a card. sets it down in front of me and goes back upstairs to get busy with work. i bathe the yucky dog - ech!
fast forward to swim lessons. i've been begging DH to go w/ us one day so that he can see camille do her thing. flooding & rain around here have made that impossible, so finally today he says he'll go. i'm so excited about the kids *finally* being able to get in the water and camille getting to show her daddy what she's learned. but, over 20 minutes of the 30 minute class today is spent teaching 3 year olds how to distinguish what the lifeguard means when he blows his whistle "x" number of times - what the heck?? oh, and how to save your drowning friend. that's rich. so, the kids don't do any swimming today except take turns jumping off the edge of the pool two times. camille has been terrified to do this lately, and finally gets up the nerve to do it. during which time, of course, DH gets a business call and walks away to speak w/ a client. for her second jump, she needs to go potty. so, that was fairly uneventful.
we head back home. gonna drop DH off so he can work & i'm SO looking forward to taking camille out for lunch and then going shopping. got some gift certificates that I can't wait to shop with! we get into this huge argument cause DH realizes that he's not taken camille to go shopping to pick out something for me. he wants me to sit at home while he goes and shops. um, no. it's my birthday and i'm going to go out and have a little fun. perhaps he should've thought about going shopping on sunday instead of sitting in front of the x-box. oh, did i just say that??
fast forward to my "peaceful" and "fun" excursion with camille. typical toddler fair. we made 4 trips to the target potty during the 45 minutes we were in the store. :) hey, atleast i got some cool stuff :)
we head home for a nap, which of course doesn't happen. she fidgets and plays and isn't tired. i'm so exhausted i can't see straight, and my little monkey is bouncing off the walls. oh, and remember the freshly-washed dog? yeah, DH left him outside in 90 degree weather without any water and now he stinks to high heaven.
no call from my mom :( i got two CT rejection emails :( this birthday sucks. i am seriously so depressed that i don't even want to answer the stupid phone if it does ring. it just bums me out that i do so much for everyone else's special days, but for mine i get the short end of the stick.
thanks for letting me vent.
