I wanted to ask you gals to pray for my family during a hard time for us. My grandmother is 90 and has Alzheimer's. The disease has advanced more rapidly than even the doctors had thought possible. She has had numerous "mini" strokes in the last month and is declining rapidly. Her time with us is coming to an end. I praise the Lord for he has been merciful with her and not drawn out this devastating illness and made her to suffer.
My mother is living with my grandparents at this time to take care of her. The burden and difficulty of this tremendous job is stretching her to say the very least. My grandfather has had health problems of his own and her declining health and the responsibilities that come along with that have really affected him, physically and emotionally. He is on anti-depressants and the doctors are working with him to regulate his blood pressure.
I believe that they are all at peace with what lies in the days ahead. She is a long-time Christian and so we have no question that she will be going to a better place.
I will most likely be headed out to visit on Saturday, just taking a couple of days to be with her and say goodbye. It isn't likely that she will know who I am, but I need to be there. I am nervous about this trip. I've only ever spent one night away from Camille and I really dislike flying. I'm going to be a wreck.
For those who like specifics, please pray for:
- peace and comfort in my grandmother's final days
- strength and peace for my mom & grandfather
- easy, safe travel for myself
- a well-behaved toddler for DH who will be keeping DD here
Thanks so much, ladies :)
