On my hubby's dime???

Our credit card number was stolen, and they charged flowers with 1-800 flowers:breakpc2:

I am so freaking mad... First if you are gonna steal someone's credit card, don't charge something that is gonna die in a few days, buy something that is gonna last you awhile :tongwink:.

Secondly.... Don't do it with my hubby's good credit, when we just got the stupid thing paid down....GRRRRR I swear... Thankfully it was caught fairly quickly, and it seems to be taken care of, but I am highly annoyed as you can imagine, I sure hope they get whatever is coming to them LOSERS!!!

I sure hope the flowers were worth it!!!

I just don't get it, we never use that card, and use it online even more rarely :( So I am just not sure how they ended up with the number....I guess we will know more after the investigation.

Ugh! I hate that! It isn't the smartest to buy something that needs to be delivered...sure makes tracking them down a whole lot easier lol.

Flowers? LOL! It was prolly some penniless guy that needed to get his girl some apology flowers. This happened to my mom many years ago, she got her CC statement and it said that she had changed some very expensive leather (or was it fur?) jackets in the New England area. Vt. or something. We were SURE that my sister had stolen her card number (we're a loyal bunch, eh?). Oh, but it wasn't.

I am very eager to get the police report:laught30:

Maybe I'll send them a thank you note for their stupidity

Sometimes people can get the cc numbers through a number generating program or something of the like, so it wasn't necessarily that they stole YOUR card number by seeing it or getting it online, but it's possible that they happened to generate a number that worked and that number happened to be yours.
Sorry that happened. I had my identity stolen 2 years ago. SS#, DL#, bank info everything. Be lucky it's just your cc#.

Hmmm well they had DH's name too, so I dunno, does it still work that way with the generators?

Some system that you charged something in could have been compromised and a whole batch of numbers could have been stolen, who knows.

The best part is that you found it quickly and it wasn't more than just flowers.
I hope you find out some information from the police report. this sounds like one of those "stupid criminal" things you'd see on tv. Hmmmmm steals a cc, orders flowers to be delivered to his wife, criminal caught with a thorn in his finger.

Sorry this happened to you

Well it turns out that the Sherrif was coming from another report of a similar sort when he came to take hubby's report in our neighborhood... so that peeks my interest... not sure how or when they would have been able to get our credit card # from our mail/trash, but now I am curious, we always destroy our statements before we throw them out, and I am almost always home when the mail comes so i dunno :(
