I can't believe Jack is finally here! We are so excited and Richard and I are so warmed by your posts and emails. You girls are sooooooooo sweet. I will try to be quick with the birth story so we can get straight to the pictures.
We were scheduled to be induced Friday August 10th but last Tuesday I was having some small contractions. By Wednesday night I was feeling them pretty strongly and regularly and at the threat of Darla and Karah knocking on my door *teeheehee* I called my husband at work and had him come home.
Wednesday night: He got home from the prison about 10:30pm and by the time we got to Lake Havasu and into the hospital it was about 1am. We were contracting about 5 minutes apart but I wasn't progressing in dialation so at about 5:30am they sent us back to my parents to labor there.
Thursday: I spent most the day in bed and in the tub with really strong contractions still about 5 minutes apart. Around 6pm they started to come much faster and much stronger about 3 minutes apart. By the time I got up and dressed and back to the hospital, I was laboring pretty hard. We checked into the hospital around 8pm, they got us into a room around 9pm. I was dialated to 7cm and 100% effaced.
Friday: My doctor came to the hospital about 12:30am and decided to break my water. I instantly started feeling like it was time and we got going. After an hour or so Jack was born. YAY!!!!
He was born Friday August 19th @ 1:35am weighed 8lbs, 3oz and was 20inches long.
The kids came in the morning to visit, and then went home for naps. Richard brought Amalie back that evening.

This is Jack at about 19 hours old

And here is a picture of him at 3 days old. He has lost some weight 7lbs 11oz now, and still has jaundice, but he is getting better. He is totally a night baby, and is wide awake from around 1am to 5am. We can't get over how sweet he is, and the kids adore him.
