I tend to pick laundry detergents that do not leave a lingering smell. I just don't like my clothes to smell like soap - no matter how perfume-y.
My MIL bought me a bottle of Tide when they were here in the spring, and I finally ran out of my normal stuff, so broke into the Tide. Now all my laundry smells! LOL And I'm not sure if I like it or not. I get the 'fresh scent' but it's all I smell when I go to bed at night now! My sheets smell like Tide.
So curious - do you buy laundry detergent based on smell?

I didn't answer because I can't decide (so I guess I should have chosen "other.")
I like the smell of Tide and Downy together, but otherwise I don't like to smell my soap. So it depends on what we have in the house...
Fun question :)

I do like the smelly soaps LOL... But for me, I like the fresh scents, not the strong floral, or other non natural scents KWIM?
Although I do love Gain, I dunno what it is about it, its a really fresh smell... it has its own scent that is not over powering.

I like the smelly soaps but not the too flowery ones.

Nope, no smell for me!
I am actually allergic to the dyes and perfumes they use in detergents. I use All Free and Clear or Seventh Generation dye/perfume free detergent, and Bounce "free" dryer sheets.

I have to use Tide (but not the new Tide with Downy or any of those scented ones) because my skin will freak if I use any other detergent--even All Free and Clear or Dreft!

I am looooooooooooooove the Snuggle Exhilarations. There's a wild orchid and vanilla one that smells soooooooo good. You don't really notice it on your clothes, but the towels smell great and my whole yard is divine when the dryer is running, lol!

I choose other. All Small and Mighty is what we use. Usually the regular one or the Free and Clear. But I also use Downy so my laundry smells like that. If I don't use Downy then it smells like a Bounce dryer sheet. So I guess I don't have one answer for you. :)

My kids both are eczema prone so I try to steer clear of scents but I do like that clean fresh smell as long as it's not too floral or artificial.

I chose smelly, but actually I prefer when it smells "clean", fresh, and nothing too strong. It wouldn't be very masculine for DBF anyway! Oh, reminds me I have to sort and load the washer! LOL

No smell for me - I have scent based allergies - so no perfume, no scented candles, no scented anything if I can help it!

I'm addicted to the Bounce Spring Renewal (or some jazzy name like that) dryer sheets...the Tide with a touch of Febreeze, and the Downy with a touch of Febreeze...SO delish!!! :D
I'll tell you one smell that makes me want to PUKE...laundry that has been dried out on the clothes line...that outside smell just makes me go EWWWWW!!! :p

LOL Jennifer - but that's supposed to be the epitomy of 'great laundry smell'. I dry my laundry on the clothesline at least six months out of the year, and I'm not always fond of that smell. There must be something in the mountains that I just don't have here lOLOLOL

I chose other because I don't like it to smell of soap but I like it to have that fresh smell :)

Gain girl, here. Though, I don't think it gets my clothes as clean as Tide, so every so often I do Tide with Downy. LOVE the smell of gain...and it sticks around forever, lol, so I can pull clothes out of the drawer that were washed two weeks ago and they still smell good! :)

I love laundry that has an after smell, only if it's a fresh kind of smell.
