for no reason whatsoever except to waste time. seriously I was up until 4am messing with it b/c I couldn't get it to work on my archives. but this morning I had a moment of revelation and realized my paths weren't right.
and I made the overlay green instead of black.
have a lookie if you wish and tell me what you think of the green. no, don't tell me honestly, just lie and say it's swell b/c I like it and I want to believe everyone else does too.
blog link in siggy.
ETA: oh poopies, not completely working in the archives. must go fix more paths . . . .

I think it's working okay now . . . ? Just have to wait until the page completely loads before the scripts will work.
I can't believe how completely obsessed I got by that. If only housecleaning were as fascinating.
And now I can go eat my fish sticks.

does everyone hate lightbox or the color green? hmm?
I don't know what my problem is but I am seriously fascinated by the lightbox effect. It's embarrassing how many times I've looked at my own blog today.:embaresse

LOL Mimi!!! It didn't work for me the first time I visited your blog and clicked on your thumbnail...but then I closed your blog down, went back, and it worked. I had let it fully load each time...it's probably something wonky on my end :P
The green is pretty groovy...do they have purple or hot pink? heehee!

It's not you. The page has to fully load for the javascript to work.
I was actually thinking about doing pink instead of green. It's just a matter of changing the color codes in the the stylesheet.
I think my DH is thoroughly disgusted with me for the amt of time I wasted on that meaningless endeavor.

You know, I swear my hubby thinks the same thing! Oh well, it amuses us, right? :smile2: Thanks to all this talk about the lightbox, I added it to my blog too. I haven't changed the color yet though, left it all as I got it. This makes it easier though to post the smaller thumbnail, I didn't like the set up before, or if I posted the larger picture then it would look funny if my column wasn't the right size.

Looks good, Kelly! And I see you even did some multipic ones. I haven't tried that yet.
Your family blog is really cute. Love the photo gallery. Can you only do that with a Mac?

would that work on a blogger blog?

I think so. can you add stuff to your template in your header and edit your css stylesheet?
because it's just basically adding 3 lines of javascript to your in your header tags and having the lightbox.css added. you can either upload the css as a separate file or just add it to your current stylesheet. (I hope I'm not forgetting a crucial detail here)
the main thing I had to mess around with the most fixing some paths so they were absolute rather than relative.
did you see the lightbox link: http://www.huddletogether.com/projects/lightbox2/

Actually the photo gallery on the family site is done using Pixel Post (http://www.pixelpost.org/), the Mac Style is just the theme I used.
I actually just used the wordpress plug-in for the lightbox, so I thought it was only applied to the new images I just posted. haha Shows how much I've really played with it.

i'll have to check out pixelpost, thanks
dang, so the WP plug-in re-did all your images automatically? is that what you're saying? hmm, maybe I should try the plug-in. which one did you use? I tried one plug-in but it didn't work but I don't think I completely removed my manual lightbox install.

Well, I had to add some images to a couple posts that got messed up and I added the code in manually that it said to, but I only added it to the latest 2-3 images that I posted. I'm off to check out my blog now. lol
Here's the link to the plug-in I used, the person based it off the script you linked to. http://www.4mj.it/lightbox-js-v20-wordpress/

could you see it on my blog? it doesn't work if the page doesn't load fully.
anyway, I'm sure you've seen it around. It's when you click on an image and it pops up with an overlay that goes over the rest of the window.

What Mimi said. I think alot of the scrapbook stores use it, or something similar to enlarge the photo of the items.

hee hee, that is how I found it: I viewed the source code from a store and googled it. And was so happy when I discovered it was a free thing!
yeesh, I'm such a time waster.
