event scrapper. I do the occasional photo feature of a great photo I took, just for the heck of it, but for the most part, if I scrap a page, it's because I have a story to tell, and it's usually wrapped up in something we did, or something one of the boys said.
We love looking back on events in our life. My books are in chronological order - I just can't do the Stacy Julian thing. I'm happy with it.
But the part I'm having a problem with right now....I don't have to scrap every photo I take, right?! LOLOL So tell me it's okay if I just file a photo or two away into the archives...that we won't have lost a chunk of our life in later years because I chose NOT to scrap a photo of my husband standing in the hallway, or the 40million photos of the cat playing with the fish tank, or the photos upon photos of school shots LOLOL Tell me it's okay!

It's ok, Darcy! You are choosing the photos that mean the most and have the biggest story to tell. That's what you are supposed to do - what it's all about, in my humble opinion. And sometimes those everyday photos that you skip over come into more meaning later on and can be scrapped with an unrelated story then, KWIM?
I'm alot like you. I usually always have something to say about the photo - in either a story or a journaled "letter" about it. I don't scrap in perfect order. I chose my best photos to illustrate what I want to get across or the photos that started the page. Sometimes I dig back a ways in my photo folders and scrap something that's older, but no less meaningful. I do have alot of 1 photo pages and I do occasionaly have a page with no journaling. And you know what - it's all ok to me!!!!
I know that when I take photos, alot of time I shoot several at one to time to get the best shot of that moment. I certainly don't use all of them at once, but sometimes so - LOL - usually it's the best one of that bunch...

LOL - you're not going to destroy any family memories by not scrapping every picture! I scrap both - events and everyday (if I happen to get a good photo!), but there are hundreds of unscrapped photos on my hard drive that I don't plan on scrapping.

I also scrap both and definitely not all of them esp since there are times my dh LOVES to take up to 200 of the girls in one event/moment making it impossible for me to ever be caught up!! I don't scrap in order - I scrap photos that capture my attention because I find they are easier for me to scrap. Sometimes I journal and sometimes I don't - knowing that somewhere down the line I will do the photo or moment again just because (remember I have TONS to choose from) and will fill in the words.

I definitely don't scrap IN order LOL I bounce around to what I find strikes me at the time. I just have a ton sitting here that I doubt I'll ever scrap. But they can definitely be saved for a new story down the road :)
Thanks girls! This morning I was just feeling pangs of stories not told..LOL

And just because the moment isn't right for that story to be told right now as you are living the story, doesn't mean that you might not want to tell it later down the road - maybe it will speak to you more then, KWIM?

I am a chronological organizer too. It just seems out of place to me to look at a scrapbook of someone in their teens and then a few pages later see their baby photos. LOL

I don't scrap in order either I just scrap what ever I feel like. Or if I just bought a kit and it will go with a certain photo then I will scrap that. I plan on putting my albums together in the order that the pictures were taken even thought I scrapped then in a different order. So when ever I print my layouts and put together an album(who knows when that will be, I have an 8x8 album in my closet since Chistmas)they will probably be different styles.

I'm another one who doesn't scrap every moment, and certainly doesn't scrap in order.
The first book I got published was in no particular order, which is already confusing. Not well planned. I went by what papers looked good together instead. Silly thought. I won't do that again :D
I have tons of pictures on the computer that likely won't ever get scrapped, but they're there just in case :)

this is funny... my 22 volumes of paper albums are in chronological order. i couldn't ever wait to get home with my hand full of prints and scrap them immediately. but now that i'm digi, i just scrap the pictures that grab my attention. and i rarely journal.. just not any good at it.. LOL!

Jumping in here as I try to reconnect with this fun board! I also do a lot of event, holiday, gathering pages and fewer moments pages.....I take photos more at specific events......BUT, since I have a baby coming, I can see a wider variety of pages coming! I dont' scrap in order, but my albums ARE in chronological order - I just have to do some shuffling sometimes..... :)

You know when I first started scrapping, It was paper with Creative Memories style and I really felt like EVERY SINGLE PICTURE must be scrapped. I'd have six two page spreads from one event and then I realized that geeeeeez....that's toooo much, no one but me will ever really enjoy looking at this and maybe I went overboard just a *tad*? LOL So do a spread or two for each event and then just scrap your favorites photos/moments as they happen, and do it guilt freee :P
