I realize that what my work for me doesn't necessarily work for others. But while trying to organize some of my stash today I wondered how everyone else organizes their goody bags and collab kits. I was organizing by shoppe if I could, but I can't keep up with designers moving and they may sell at more than one store, so I figured by designer would be easier for me. Then I ran across some collab kits and couldn't figure out the easiest way to do it.

They will wait until I'm sure the easiest way for me, but how do you organize these kinds of things?

I kinda do the same way you do, Kelly. I have a folder for the shop, then designers in that and then kits inside those. I do have one folder inside the shop folder for collab kits only. Sometimes when a designer moves shops - I will just move the folder to the new shop folder. But some designers, I just have on the top level with their name, cause I got tired of moving them - LOL!

I sort by designer, I have acdsee but I haven't really had time to tag everything yet lol!

I'm using acdsee too, trying to organize things before I start tagging, my folders are a mess right now! lol Maybe I'll make a folder for collab kits, or maybe I'll just make a new folder for those two designers. Or maybe not...lol I'll have to sit on it a bit longer.

A C D See Alllllllll theeeeeeeeeeeee waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay.

this is what I do.

Folders for each designer. Inside that folders for each kit or whatever.

For collabs. If it's not a coordinated collab, that is, if it's more like a mish mosh of items and each designer has her own folder I will just move that to the designer's folder.

If it's a coordinated collab I put it in a folder according to store. So I have a store folder and within that are collab kits.

Now if it's a collab with just 2 designers I'll put it with whatever designer is more meaningful to me. Like if one of my CT designers are involved, goes in her folder (hmm, haven't had 2 ct designers collab yet). Otherwise goes to the folder of the designer from the store I bought it.

did that make any sense?

Makes perfect sense to me. :wink2:
I might try some of your organizing methods. I have a folder for the TDC collab kits, seemed to make more sense to me. Hmmmm, I think I'm thinking too much about this. :unknw:

I sort by designer then store. If the designer sells at more than one place, then I'll put the store name in the kit title. For example:

Jennifer Howland > Solidified Four (Elemental Scraps)
> All Grunged Up 5 (The Digi Chick)

I print previews of all my stash and have them in a binder organized by element type.

I didn't get a chance to read all the way through everyone's organization (sorry) but I wanted to add that I have ACDSee too.
I have one tag for TDC stuff, and one for Tamra (since I'm on her team too), and then I sort things by category from there. So when I want a doodle and know it's from someone here, I click on TDC and Doodle and get only the things that are in both!

My folders: I have a CT folder, for anything I have for a CT that I haven't used yet (or want to use again, like Tristan's Treasures). Then, once I've used and tagged it, I put the entire kit into the main folder. Since ACDSee sorts things, I don't bother with lots of subfolders in my windows folder.

Not sure that makes sense, but there you go ;)

I'm just starting with ACDSee too, but so far I have 1 folder per designer and 1 folder per store for collab kits. Even when designers move away, I just keep the collab kits in the store's folder where I got them from.
