Phew! Good thing we bought 300 pieces of candy.....
We've had 100 trick or treaters and they are still coming down the sidewalk.
In case you're wondering why:
- We are in a brand new 182 home subdivision
- We are less than 1000 feet from the nearest elementary school
- There's another subdivision across the street from the school

Well we went to church... But we had a huge bowlful of candy to hand out, so I turned the light on, and left it on the porch LOL
Guess what??
Not only was the candy gone, but so was the bowl!! When we got home an hour and a half later :P

wow, Rachel! I shut down early. And Henry promptly packaged up the remaining candy into plastic containers. I think the whole night he was a little worried there'd be no candy left. They didn't ToT this year so they are considering the leftover theirs.
candy tax, LOL
Deena, can't believe someone took your bowl!

my neighbor hid one of his walkie-talkies in a flower pot on his front porch. put a bowl of candy out there, and then sat on his balcony. when kiddos would come up, he'd go "hey, hey you...come here. get some candy....etc..."
one lady goes, "you slacker. I know you're just sitting in there watching t.v. on your sofa. why don't you get up." blah blah blah. he told her he was watching grey's anatomy and she asked if she could come watch too.
another lady (who assumed she wasn't being watched), took TWO HUGE scoops of candy. guess it was better than taking the bowl. but, dang! what a greedy momma!
we actually both went trick-or-treating with camille, so we didn't hand out candy, even though DH bought a bunch. anybody want a bunch of dum dums and bubble gum :P

It was a slow night for us. And then the teenagers came. Come on, if you have to shave any part of your body then you are too old to trick or treat.

We just moved to a new house on the hill here and totally expected a ton of trick ot treaters, but we got 5 sets total. SO like--25 people or so.
I was giving out handfuls when they came!
my kids got handfuls wherever they went around the neighborhood becasue it was so slow this year.

LOL - hope it wasn't a bowl you liked...
Geez Rachel - that's alot!
DH had to work so it was just me and the boys. We had no one before we left, shut the light off. Came back at about 8pm, had one set, put the boys to bed and had two more kids ring the doorbell at 8:30pm (after the lights were all off again! Geez!) and that was it! Luckily I didn't buy much candy for we nknew we'd be gone...

We took our kids to the mall and were going to go to a few houses by our house but we ended up going and visiting dh's brother and the kids went trick our treating with their daughter. They got so much candy. They were giving away twinkies, playdoh, and big candy bars.

The bowl was one of those cheap Halloween plastic bowls from Wal-Mart, I was somewhat attached to it but it just gives me an excuse to buy a new one now LOL. I figure it might be found somewhere around the neighborhood, although as bad as it is, i would bet an adult took it!

I didn't have a single TorTer this year!! Not one!! I live near the middle school on an unlit street with not too many people, so they all went to the new subdivision near the hospital.
