OK, on this lovely Christmas Eve... what do you have cooking RIGHT NOW?
I've got some cookies in the oven, and my cranberry salad is setting in the fridge.

Right now, unfortunetly I am working, but at home I have a chicken in the slow cooker, and a ham in the oven. I hope DH is keeping an eye on them. When I get home I think I will make some cookies, thanks for the idea Andrea!

Um, nothing....
The extent of my food responsibilities for Christmas is bringing the Costco pumpkin pie (and woe to me if I try to replace it with Fred Meyer or some other brand....).....
And yes, the Costco pumpkin pie is sitting safely in my fridge - bought yesterday!

I have had a ham slow roasting in the oven since the wee hours this morning. The perogies will be going in very soon. Does everyone know what perogies are? I always wondered that...is it just something around here or is it a common food everywhere?

Andrea~ where are you located? I know perogies are huge in the Pennsylvania and Ohio area...... I LOVE perogies!
(FYI~ perogies are kind of like ravioli, except filled with mashed potatoes)

Richard has to work all day today and tomorrow, so we just had some macaroni & cheese. Tonight I am going to my aunt & uncles for dinner and tomorrow it will probably be lasagna.
I am about to start another batch of peppermint bark to take with me tonight.

Perogies ROCK!
I have a batch of Karah's bread in the oven rising...my first time ever making bread from scratch that didn't involve the bread machine and looks as if it might really work!
Next are chocolate dipped ritz bitz sandwiches for the boys to give as gifts to everyone!

hmmm....everything sounds great!!
we baked our gingerbread men (little men, bear guys & bear gals) last night & decorated them this afternoon. i'm about to make DH's birthday cake - made the icing yesterday - and then i'm gonna assemble the lasagna for tomorrow. we are going non-traditional and having lasagna, caesar salad & garlic bread for christmas lunch. all that ham, potatoes & casseroles just didn't sound good this year :)

Brrrrr....I am in Canada!!!! Perogies - a main dish of every holiday, wedding, anniversary, get together - you name the event - perogies are there. I am even having a little perogie making bee with my MIL soon to prepare for the next big event - Orthodox Christmas - my husbands family celebrates what we call Ukrainian Christmas on January 7th - so I get to do this all over again in a couple of weeks. Except...I really only have to eat - lol!

We do non-traditional every Christmas Eve, because we've declared Christmas Eve *ours*, since our families insist we are there at both places on Christmas Day.
Our dinner tonight is:
- garlic bread
- pasta alfredo (dh makes the alfredo sauce too, yummy)
- sausages
- salad

I've got a Costco spiral cut ham in the oven, rice in the rice cooker. A caramel cake waiting to be turned into cake balls. Will make some sort of veggie, green beans probably.
Andrea, I love pierogies! There's a little restaurant close by that specializes in them, I need to go back one of these days.
I am also fond of packzis.

Perogies are not that common around here. I see them in the frozen food section, but that's about it. My sissy made a pecan pie yesterday and I baked Jesus's birthday cake. Want to make some more cut-outs today, since we're not going anywhere and a pumpkin pie at some point this week.
