Cool, Charlene! And yeah...I can't imagine adding a puppy to the mix that I've got (and your mix is pretty similar!). Maybe when Katie is out of diapers...

Actually, I'm conflicted about it. I love dogs, I really do, but we'd probably want a big dog (like a lab) and it would probably be an outside dog. THe problem is that then I'd feel like I needed to clean up doggie poop before I let the girls play in the backyard. Is that weird? lol What do other people with big dogs do? just make sure the kids know to be careful? ;)

Sinead, we have a large dog - he's pretty good though, he just goes around the edges of the yard - DH cleans up every day in the summer and every few days in the winter. You can train dogs to just go in one spot (I'm not sure how, but one of our neighbors did that with his standard poodle)
