So I'm totally droooooooooling over pse4, and can't wait to get my grubby little paws on it. But I'm wondering:
when I install the upgraded version, will my brushes and actions be installed in the new version? Or will I have to reload those?
-also-
will the organizer carry over? Or will everything have to be retagged?

Lauren,
I can only imagine that the tags and all will still be there . . . stuff like that doesn't usually disappear when you upgrade. Plus, Adobe seems to be really, really on the ball as far as realizing what their customers need/want. So, if you do have to redo anything, I'd be really surprised. They usually try to make it as painless as possible!
I know it's not a solid answer, but my upgrade is on its way. I'll let you know as soon as I've upgraded!

Sometimes I feel like I live in a cave or something. I didn't even know an upgrade was available. What are the changes?
Has anyone installed theirs yet? Tell me if I "need" it or not. :wink_smil

i'm with heather! i am currently using the trial version of 4, but don't really want to pay that much for it right now. So i was wondering if 3 is really much different. Thanks!

When I upgraded from PSE2 to PSE3 I had to reinstall all my filters, brushes, etc...because they install to a new directory (like it was Adobe/Photoshop Elements 2/ and the new one was Adobe/Photoshop Elements 3). All I did was go into the PSE2 directory and move everything over to PSE3.
As for the organizer, I would think they'd make it easy. Otherwise why would people bother? I had a version of PS Album when I upgraded to PSE3, and couldn't figure out how to move my categories, tags, etc. I was so disappointed, and I havne't sat down to do it since. Now it will take even longer to tag everything, lol. Anyway...I was told by someone on a board that there was a way to transfer all that stuff, but I couldn't find it in my user guide, and I couldn't find it on their website help section. So I never bothered but I probably should have kept looking. But, hopefully PSE4 will be a bit better about that than PSE3 was.

When I installed the upgrade, all my tags and everything were there. :) You have to change the format so that 4 can read it and that makes it so that 3 can't read it anymore, but if you're upgrading, you won't be using 3 anymore, right?
