My son Zach (14) has been studying the bible with his youth leader for quite some time now, he has had a few struggles along the way. The studies are set up in different sections, the first is called Seeking God, then there are different ones talking about different things including discipleship, sin, repentance, and the final one is Baptism! Now at the end of the Baptism study that is usually when people decide to get baptized, which is something Zach has been asking to be baptized for years, but I just did not think he was ready to make that commitment and really understand why, so I had told him he needed to wait till he was a little older. He has grown so much spiritually in that time, he really has a heart for God, so I pretty much know the decision he will make!
Well this study is going to happen on Monday, and I just can hardly contain my excitement!! His youth leader reminded me that it make take them awhile to get through the study, and it could be Monday, Thursday, or a year from now :P All said with a smile on his face, because I think he knows it will be Monday LOL.... If you can say a lil prayer for my lil man!! I know he is going to be an awesome disciple, and he already has started showing that!!

That's great, Deena! I'm sure that's exciting to see. We're Catholic and baptise when they're babies, but then they go through Confirmation (which is pretty much like other Christian baptisms) when they're old enough to make the decision on their own. When I was a kid we did Confirmation in 6th grade or something, but they've moved it back to 10th or 11th grade now. I like the later Confirmation because it helps them really be mature enough to make the choice themselves.
At any rate--that's terrific! I'll say some prayers for him!

Oh that's such incredible news! What an exciting step for him!
We're still a ways off from that day, but it is very exciting to hear Camille talk about Jesus and pray to Him. Today, in fact, we were dipping strawberries in chocolate for Daddy and she found the largest, most beautiful one in the box and said, "Mommy, I'm going to save this one for Jesus!" I explained that he was in heaven and wasn't likely to join us for a Valentine snack, but that it was such a sweet thing to offer. That didn't bother her a bit though. She replied, "Well, then I'm just going to save it for when I'm dead and then I can give it to him in heaven!" Oh my.... :)

How exciting, Deena! That's great. I know you one happy and proud mom.
Christine, that is so sweet of Camille - and funny about saving it to give to him herself!

Oh My goodness Christine, that is so sweet of her LOL :)
I have to admit I especially love watching Sophia... The innocence she has. I became a Christian when Zach was 8yrs old, so he has seen how having Christ in our lives has made a difference, but with Sophia she will always grow up with Christian parents, and it's just different, seeing her always want to pray and such. It's a way of life for her, but something I had to teach the others, it's just an interesting dynamic in our house LOL.
