View Full Version : Printing Layouts question

Ok, everyone. A recent convert to the digital world, I'm now completely hooked. My problem is that I still want to have 12x12 copies of my pages in hard format so that I can share them with friends and family when they come over. (Because they don't see enough pictures of my daughter in their email! lol)
So...the printing dilemma. I've had some layouts printed already through ploppinmemories, but that gets pricey. There's not a Costco here in town and just playing around on their website didn't look hopeful for me.
What do you do? Do you use local printers? Did you buy your own wide-format printer and print your things yourself? I'm just trying to gather info so that I can make some decisions about this.
Thanks in advance!

We don't have a Cosco near here either, but I've actually placed two print orders through their website and had them delivered. You're not going to find a better price on the 12x12 (well, the 12x16 actually) anywhere. I've been very pleased with what I've gotten from them as well. I was pleasantly surprised!

maybe you could try printing them out as 8x8 instead...I have YET to try printing any of mine out, but I guess I should try!!! :) thanks for the Costco tip...we don't have one here either!

I took your advice, ladies, and I had a 12x16 done with a 12x12 and 2 6x6s. It turned out great and was WAY cheaper than anywhere else.
Thanks, everyone!

I just got my order from Whcc today. And I have to say they turned out great! And they are the cheapest I have found so far! And you don't pay shipping if you order $12 or more. I sent in 6 12x12 and it was $21 something. Their like $3.60 per a 12x12.

As someone else said, I print mine in 8x8. Target has the cutest 8x8 albums for $10 or something. They look awesome, and the journaling is still completely readable. It's funny, but now the 12x12's tend to look "bulky" to me, anymore, lol. But, I know my fickle self--so, I still create all my layouts in either 8.5x11 (dd's baby album is 8.5x11) or 12x12. Then, I re-size my 12x12's when I print...just in case someday I say, "Man, why did I do all these in 8x8?!!" roflol.
I have an archival Epson printer that does an incredible job on my photos and layouts. So, I just print them at home.
I have used WHCC for photos and enlargements, and have always been thrilled with their quality (they're speedy, too! :) )

I've sent orders to Scrapbook Pictures~

I made one 12x12 album, and they cost $5 there, but now do 8x8's (another vote for cute Target albums!) and they cost $2!
HTH!

I have an epson wide format printer so printing mine at home but do both 12x12 and 8x8 sizes - found a bunch of 8x8 books at Joanne's for $2.00 - can't beat that! Except for Andrea's great find at Target.....man my Target isn't that nice!

Woah! Andrea, which Target? In Boardman? I was just there and totally missed those albums!
edited to add: "DUH", you mean that the 8x8 prints were two dollars, not the album, lol!
