Oh man I am sooo excited for this day to end because I officially start vacation for a week and will try to scrap. But whatcha all doing for the Easter holiday/Spring break or weekend?

We are going to go to Church and then my MIL's home for Easter egg fun including smashing our traditional confetti eggs all over everyone! My oldest is doing a happy dance because she can finally drink soda and has asked for ONLY bottles of soda in her basket this year! Oh yeah and did I mention it is supposed to be 90 degrees on Sunday? Whew!

Well, tomorrow we're going to St. George, Utah (closest BIG town from us) to do some shopping for a church event on Tuesday night. Then, I have to come home and get ready for Easter, not that I'm doing much. LOL My kids are all too old for Easter baskets and that stuff.

On Sunday, we're going to church and then we'll be having an Easter turkey. We had a coupon from DH work from Christmas that we needed to use before March 31, so this was perfect.

Then on Monday, I have to make chicken salad to feed 50 people for the church event on Tuesday as well as make 150 cupcakes for the said church event.

Oh, and I also have to make a powerpoint presentation for the church event! LOL

LOL, Darla! Did she give up soda for Lent then, I take it? That's too cute - and will be fun to scrap too - LOL!
I hope you have a great vacation!
The boys were off this week for Spring Break. Ryan spent 2 days/nights at G'Ma's, so that made it a little more quiet around here. We need to go to WalMart and shop today. Still need basket things too. Have laundry to do. Have to figure out what we're going to do for a computer.
It's heating up here too, but haven't watched the news to see the upcoming temps - in the 80's, I think! :) - Oh, yeah - it says 86 on Sunday for here. We will go to my Mom's for Easter and eat and probally swim.

LOL yeah Michelle she did give it up - actually both girls did and well the little one only lasted about a day or two. Amy has been counting down the days and well her friends haven't exactly helped out as they decided to tease her and all bring soda for lunch at school.....kids! :)

Oh and I need some basket stuff too - the oldest plays along for Hayley and hopes she will get great gifts too! And wow Paula - you are still online after all that big list of stuff you need to do? Whew....I am worn out! How cool that you give back so much to your community. :)

We're actually breaking tradition this year - and going out to eat for Easter so that we can all be together. Dad's wife broke her foot and really doesn't want us all at their house when it's supposed to be rainy and cold in Dallas. I don't blame her one bit. And my house is too small for everyone, but we're not really wanting to not have Easter together, so we're going to Olive Garden to eat. We're putting off our Spring egg hunt until the grandparents come for their spring visit next weekend, but the boys aren't too disappointed as they know Grammy will make the egg hunt even more special.

We'll skip Sunday School Sunday and just go to the early worship service so that we can be with our family later. But other than that - it's going to be an uneventful Easter. Though I think we'll need to sneak some of our confetti eggs to the restaurant with usso that the boys can get their cousins :) It's an annual thing for us, too, Darla!

I've never heard of confetti eggs...somebody enlighten me.

I went to Holy Thursday mass last night. DH is going to go to Good Friday services tonight, but I'll listen to it online (through Sirius and the Catholic Channel) this afternoon, so at least I won't miss it. The girls go to bed too early for us to take them.

Maggie has an Easter Egg hunt at her school tomorrow, so we'll take both girls, and then I'll be going to Easter Vigil mass on Saturday night. There are 48 people in the RCIA program, so it's going to be a LONG mass, I'm sure. Still...that's my favorite mass of the year. We'll probably just have a quiet day here on Easter Sunday. :) We'll go back to mass as a family, and then just have a fun day with the four of us here.

Sinead - confetti eggs are real egg shells filled with confetti. So you slam them on someone's head and then confetti goes everywhere :) Theyr'e too fun!

Oh man, that sounds wickedly fun!

My parents are driving over from McAllen to celebrate early on Saturday. We're not sure yet when my hubs has to drive back to Denton. It's going to be very laid back!

I've never heard of confetti eggs either. Do you buy them somewhere or fill them yourself?

We've got an egg-hunt at Wes' school in the morning. Then my nephew's 4th bday party. The rest of tomorrow should be quiet.

Then Sunday, church in the morning. I'm only leading worship for one out of the five services at our church this Easter, so that's nice! :) I've been sick, so one service is enough for me this year. Then probably lunch with some family, but nothing formal.

We're not doing anything special. My SIL and nephew just got here, they are spending the week with us since my nephew & oldest are both on spring break. We are having Easter dinner tomorrow because hubby has duty on Sunday. On Sunday morning though we will have Easter baskets. Then Monday we will celebrate my oldest two's birthdays.

We fill our own eggs but I know my MIL has found them in some of the small stores in her area. You just take an egg and make a hole at the top and shake out the inner egg stuff. You wash and dry out the egg and then fill it with confetti. We use tissue paper and cover the hole up and oh yeah decorate them like normal before we fill them (and they are dried). We have done this since I was a little girl so it is not Easter without them..... Oh yeah and there are some tears when the boys get too rough with the girls.

I'm on my weekend plans....out at the Oregon Coast for my wedding anniversary! :)

We'll be coming back home on Easter Sunday, hand washing a couple loads of laundry (the service guy will be installing our new washer part on Monday) for work, and spending time with the cats.
