it's been a gross afternoon. Maggie peed all over the floor in the bathroom (i've got a plan with that and i'm working on it). for some reason she forgot to close the door when she came out of there. after i changed another gross diaper from Katie (apparently she, and maybe me too) has a stomach virus of some sort. think gross and you probably aren't even close.), I went to wash my hands. apparently katie decided to explore in the bathroom and slipped in the pee, landing on her back and smacking her head on the floor. she screamed. and screamed. and puked. and puked. lovely orange peanut butter crackers...wanna guess how absolutely disgusting that is the second time around? blech. got her cleaned up from that. then another gross diaper. then got bathroom cleaned up and spent about 15 min rinsing out towels and clothes so that i wouldn't be putting puke in the washing machine.
oh, the glories of a stay at home mom.
oh yeah, and i'm supposed to be reviewing essays right now. i can see that happening. lol the essay that i have open on my desktop will be lucky to get looked at before nightfall!
how has your day been?

and can someone please explain why it is that my darling katie pukes every time she cries hard or gets the least bit upset. (i'm assuming sensitive gag reflex.) SO gross.
any tips for preventing it? short of not letting her cry at all, that is, cause how realistic is that?
i'm so over puke.

Oh, man, Sinead....I'm SO hoping your day got better from that point on. I'm just enjoying our thunderstorms and being thankful that we no longer have our house so we don't have to worry about the flooding that's coming.

Oh dear Sinead. I'm so sorry about your gross day. I hope your baby girls feel better soon. As for the puking on crying, I have no idea on that one.

lol Kim. Maggie's wearing panties and Katie's in a diaper. of course, that's pretty much par for the course at 5pm in our house. They seem to think that fewer clothes should be worn the later it is in the afternoon!

Sounds like you had one heck of a day! Nothing exciting in my house today, except for finding out our friend who is deploying is leaving on Sat which we weren't expecting.
Tommy gags over some of the silliest things sometimes, I wish I knew how to stop it. Hope your day has gotten better since!

My day is going soooooooo much better than yours. Saturday evening Olivia did poo in the potty all by herself - which sounds really good right? Well - she earned her very first poo prize - a Polly Pocket bag. She also got to wear some pretty Dora panties instead of a diaper. We talked about where pee and poo go, shook hands and made a deal that she would promise to go in the potty. Not 5 minutes later, all snuggled in with her Dad on the couch, she gets a big smile on her face and announces "I PEED!" Not just a little pee either - we are talking a man size pee running everywhere! She lost her poo prize and I told her we had to throw Dora in the garbage. This started an hour of screaming, crying and whimpering. OY!
So - although mine wasn't near as gross as yours - it was still oh so frustrating :) Hope my dismal day cheers you that you are not alone in your SAHM rowboat!

Oh honey, that's awful!
My kids have been terribly annoying all day. Yes, I know that makes me sound like a terrible mother, but I promise I'm not a bad Mommy most days. We had a long weekend of camping, and let me just say that camping with an almost 3 yr. old and a 4 yr. old is not relaxing in the least. I needed today to get over it and they were just stilled wired today. Wired, and whiney, and not listening, and arguing, and biting (Claire bit Wes and got in a heap of trouble for it). Ugh!
Tomorrow will be better... tomorrow will be better... tomorrow will be better
C'mon ladies, chant with me now... tomorrow will be better...
Hehe!

Oh Sinead, I am so sorry to hear that!! My day is going better then yours. My kiddos aren't sick so that is a plus. I do have a sensative gag puker though. My DS is 4 and everytime he gets into a crying spell he pukes. I've asked the DR about it but there is nothing they can really do. They said he'd outgrow it. I am tired of waiting and cleaning puke :( but hopefully soon.

I've got my fingers crossed that we'll wake up healthy and happy tomorrow! :)

Well I can honestly say that it sounds like my house one day a few weeks ago!
5 minutes before we walk out the door, DS poops in his pants and then takes them off. Poop falls on the floor, so he tries to clean it up. There was poop smeared into the carpet, all over the toilet paper roll, all over the toilet, up and down his legs....
We had to rent a carpet cleaner!
I'm with ya' honey...I'm with ya'! {{hugs}}

oh wow, Sinead, that sounds pretty awful . . . I was going to say that I don't think I've ever had a day that gross. But then I remembered that Lily recently puked 2x in one night, the 2nd time in bed and there was puke everywhere, in her hair was the worst.
