okay . . . so I spent 5 hours in L&D last night.

I started having bad burning/cramping the night before last and I cramped and contracted all day y'day. They were often about 15 minutes apart.

I called my doc office and they said better safe than sorry. WHen I got there they pretty much stopped but I was slightly dehydrated (found keytones in my urine) and then they checked my cervix and I am VERY thick but dialated 1.5. they ran a test to see if I am at risk for early delivery and I am NOT -- so that's good.

I am going to talk to my doctor and see if we can deliver at 38 instead of 39. The last few days have been awful and miserable. My mom just so happened to be in town visiting so she stayed so I don't have to do anything...they didn't put me on bedrest -- in fact said continue normal activities. Kinda crazy. My doctor wasnt on call so I haven't talked to him yet, but I do see him next Wednesday.

I was having contractions I didn't know I was having and the ones I had been feeling all day stopped....like DH said --- it's like taking a car to the mechanic ... the problem stops.

Sounds like things are going to be happening soon. I hope that the next few weeks go smoothly for you--how many weeks are you now?

33.5 -- so he needs to stay put at least until 37- no matter how bad I feel.

I agree; take it easy!
Dehydration can definitely make contractions start, so hopefully getting enough water will keep more from happening.

I would stay down as much as possible. Good Luck to you. My twins were born at 35 weeks and spent 2 weeks in the NICU. It was very painful leaving them there. Hang in there.
