How did you get started with elements?

I'm hoping this is the right place to ask this question. (If not, I'm sorry! I'll do better next time!)

Where did you all start when you started making elements and papers? I'm pretty new to the digi scrapping world, but the idea of being able to make my own embellishments and papers is so exciting to me. As it is, I'm so happy that I can recolor things now so that I get the perfect color to match whatever picture I'm working on.

I'm working with Digital Image Pro. Would it be better if I had Photoshop?

I'd just love to know how you ladies got started...I love everything that I've seen from you so far!

I don't have DIP, I have PS but I'm sure it wouldn't be too much different. For me it was just a matter of Playing around. First open a new blank file and add colour, patterns, textures, use brushes and shapes. It is just a matter of playing. Plus you may be able to find some really good tutorials out there.....just google it.
