I just talked to Amanda, who sounds really tired after a long night of not a lot of sleep.
They made it through, but have been without electricity, and probably will be for days as the entire city of Houston seems to be out of power and it may be awhile before they get everyone restored. She said what they can see out of one of the windows is that there's quite a big of damage in their back yard - fence down, garden uprooted and lots of limb damage, but they won't know the full extent until the rain/wind lets up and they go look.
Her parents have a live wire in their front yard, so they may get electricity before most since the company will have to fix that for safety reasons, but Amanda said, if they know they won't get electricity at their house, it'll be a race to whichever relative gets electricity first :)
So keep her in your thoughts, they may have a few days of ick ahead just trying to cope and get back in digi-life.
