Hey all- just popping in for a minute. We have power and are back home. We also have water but do not have sewage. So um yeah- kinda gross.
I am trying to put our house back in order and figure out what the heck to do with all the Spaghetti Os.
There is no school the rest of the week and maybe some of next week.
I went grocery shopping before I came back so we have replaced some of our fridge food. I am sure the stuff I forgot will be missed when I am actually cooking.
But for now we are home and happy. I am sure it will take me a few days to get back in the swing of things.
Oh- in the middle of all of this our vacuum died. :dramasmileyf:

I'm glad you're back home!!! :good: Sorry about the vacuum and the sewage, though. Yuck, yuck, yuck!!!
It really is hard to re-stock your fridge, though, isn't it? You don't realize just how many things in there you take for granted until you go to make something easy like mac n cheese and realize you haven't replaced the butter!

So, where in Texas are you, Amanda? I used to live in Friendswood, and I know they were hit kind of hard. My server is housed there, so my email has been down since Thursday. I'm such a wimp that I can't imagine being without power or SEWER!! Blech.

I'm glad that you're back home with power and water. The sewage will come.
I was just driving around today and noticing how many places around me are out of gas (we're in North Alabama and most of our gas comes from the suppliers on or near the Gulf Coast). We're a good 5 or 6 hours from the coast, so I can only imagine what it's like in areas that were actually hit by a hurricane.
Has Billy been able to get to Galveston to see if he still has a job? Is it even to that point yet? I'll be thinking about you--I'm sure there are lots of challenges to come.

Oh, I know that you are so relieved to be home ~ even if your vacuum wimped out on you and the sewer isn't operational right now. Put the Spaghetti-Os on the shelf for a rainy day.
Still saying prayers for you and your family . . .
