It's one of the few shows I watch, and the ONLY reality show we see.
I'm excited about it. It's amazing to see the transformations. :good:
I'm hoping Jerry (is that the name of the policeman who's so horribly out of shape that he can only work out for 30 minutes a day?) makes it for a long time. I like him, and think he really needs to be there.
What do you think?

I do too, Dana.
It's usually pretty late that I choose true favorites, so it's surprising that I'm already rooting for he and his daughter. But he's so unhealthy, I'm worried he won't make it if he doesn't stay on the show.

I love it! :) man, what about that doc showing them their bodies true age vs. biological age and all the graphics that went with it... YIKES!

Wasn't that scary, Teresa? I really wonder what my true age is, since I don't work out at ALL!
Deena, when is it he comes back, and for how long?

Deena, I am so excited for you! I read your post and thought I must have completely missed the fact that he was back! I can only imagine how nice that will be for you!
I became a huge Biggest Loser fan last year and am looking forward to this season as well. I could not believe the team last week that lost like 37 lbs or something like that! It was amazing!

Charla, I bet that you're pretty healthy, though. You're not overweight and you're pretty active with the two girls. I'm assuming, too, that you guys eat fairly well. I'm sure my biological age is well above what my real age is, but I was working on that (well, I was until a week or so ago. lol Now it'll have to wait).
I've gotta say, though, that I wasn't very pleased with the way they did the challenge last week. If they were going to let two of the people sit out, then they should have let all of the teams run with one person. The other teams (esp. the brown team, who lost) would have done much better if they could have picked their strongest team member to compete. I hope that the team who won (yellow?) loses weight and sticks around, but I thought that it was unfair for them to win immunity when they weren't exactly competing on a level field with everyone else.

I agree; they really should have changed the whole challenge. I don't think they had a lot of time to think it through, though, since they'd just found out about his severe restrictions. Of course we don't know their real schedule....
And thanks. We do eat pretty well, but I'm not a very active person. I'm a "let's sit on my lap and read books" type mom, not so much a "let's go outside and dig in the dirt" type. My weight is stable and I've lost all my baby weight (which is awesome, because it means my midwife isn't worried if I put on more than the recommended weight this pregnancy...I put on a bit more than the guidelines with both girls) but I'd be a lot healthier if I started doing more physically.
Hoping to do the prenatal yoga more frequently now that I'm starting to feel a bit better...

I was at my in-laws, so I don't know if what I saw was this season or what, but there was this trainer girl who was yelling at everyone, like she's so tough... and I was kinda embarrassed for her. It totally looked "Made for TV" the way she was going on, like it's not really her... odd.
If I had a TV, I'd probably watch it all the time. :giggle:

Yeah, I think a lot of Jillian's personality is just for the ratings, but hey, it works! It's almost always her team that ends up with the winner! ;) They all think she's a big meanie from the start, but she does show her soft side (once in a great while).
The funniest thing was that last season, her mom came on. Her mom's a shrink, and is all syrupy sweet. I really think Jillian is the way she is, just to be the polar opposite of her mother
No TV, huh? That's awesome!! :good: Maybe someday we'll kill ours...maybe...

Actually, there was a whole thing about her last year because she had taken the previous year off from Biggest Loser because she felt that she was being unfairly portrayed as a meanie, and then last year they went way overboard with the softer side for her and worked hard to show Bob as a hardass.
I think that the truth is that both of them are very demanding--they have to be in that setting because their clients have A LOT of work to do in very little time. Some of the attitude stuff from the trainers is editing; there are (supposedly, at least) lots of times when they're there to talk to their clients about things and not just yelling, etc.
I love Jillian. If I was on Biggest Loser, I'd totally want her to be my trainer. Love Bob, too, but I need the motivation, and Jillian yelling at me would make me mad--not at her but at myself--and that would be more effective for me.

I had no idea that's why she wasn't there that one season! That's really funny. I'm glad she's back; I like her, even though she does show that rough side.
I would likely do better with her, too. I need that external motivation, sad to say. Though I like that Bob incorporates yoga. I'm working on that this pregnancy and love how it makes me feel when I'm really concentrating on it (and it's really cute when the girls join in )

Well, that wasn't the only reason. She was heavily involved with getting the Australian Biggest Loser going, too (so was Bob), but was busy with that.
I enjoy yoga, too. It's so peaceful, but it is a good stretching workout!

We have to start getting the girls to bed before it starts. Just about the time they're ready for the "big reveal" of the voted off team, Bekah's begging to be put to bed, crying loudly and hysterical. Happened both of the last two weeks.
I think I learned my lesson!!! :giggle:
Crazy show, though! I can't BELIEVE the yellow team put it all on the line like that!!!!! I'm glad they made it through, though. I really think she's going to look just like Reece Witherspoon when she gets to her ideal weight, and I can't wait to see that :giggle: And I just want her dad to be healthy!!

I can't believe that she did that, either. J was so ticked!
The two who were voted off looked really good at the update. So far I think I like the orange team (Heda and hubby) and the red team (autistic kiddo parents). I wish that orange hubby had stuck to his word, though, and voted for yellow, even though it wouldn't have made a difference. Yellow was very lucky that they didn't go last night. It's dumb to take up those temptations. They'll learn...

I got hooked last year -- wasn't going to watch it this year because I feel like they show WAY too much of the working out part -- but got hooked in again.
I like the yellow team and really want Coleen to stay -- I think if she gets past the "team" weigh-ins with her Dad (who no doubt NEEDS to be there but I believe will be her demise because of his exercise restrictions) then she has the grit and determination to make it all the way.
I thought it was extremely unfair that the Gray and Yellow teams had to do the challenge last night on their own. I think they should have been allowed to sit out every other slide down -- BUT, given that they had to do each and every one of them, I think they both ROCKED IT!

I, honestly, don't think that they should have let the two guys on Yellow and Gray on the show in the first place. Yes, they need to lose weight, but this show is grueling, and if you aren't healthy enough to do it, then they risk HUGE HUGE problems. I mean, what would the show do if Jerry (the Yellow dad, right?) had a coronary right there on the treadmill. It could happen!
There are plenty of people who are overweight but still fairly healthy (no heart conditions or lung conditions, for example) that they could choose from, ya know?

I agree, Sinead. There were hundreds (right?) of thousands who tried out for the show. They always are out of shape, that's the point, but they're not about to die on the treadmill.
I'm rooting for him just because I like him and want to see him get healthy, but mostly I'm rooting for his spunky daughter :) So far she's my favorite! (maybe because she's been one of the big focuses (foci?) so far)

I was worried for the dad too having to leave after that silly choice! I just love the show because it keeps me thinking better about exercise and the food around me. I am so hooked on scrapping though, I just half watch the show... I listen to it all and glance up from my laptop every now and then. :)
