Anyone planning to see this/already been?

It's incredible. (I finally figured out why I think Mike Mussina is so good-looking; give Kirk Cameron a 5-o'clock shadow and he looks like Moose ). If you go, bring Kleenex. Like a whole box. It's not sad, particularly, just emotionally charged.

DH said the guys in the restroom afterwards were sniffling and wiping their noses, so it's not just my pregnant hormones. That just magnified it :giggle:

Anyways, it's incredible and I highly recommend it. DH and I have an awesome relationship but it gave me a boost to try even harder to keep it fresh and loving :good:

I totally need to check it out . . . our Sunday School class was talking about it and I saw a brief preview for it last week. Thanks for the review!

That looks like a really good movie, maybe I can convince my DH to see it with me, since it's got a firefighter in it, hehe. (My DH is a firefighter)

I really want to see this! I think I would probably rather wait and watch it at home though.

I want to see it now too. Hmmm... DH won't go ... I will get my friend to go with me.

Tamra -- your flip flop is killing me---I would have never thought that was a flip flip toe thingy! Good Lawd.

I LOVE that song from the movie... "Love is not a fight, but it's something worth fighting for..." Is the movie really good? I figured it be cheesy... :bolt:

Nicole, did you see Facing the Giants? It's made by the same church. Very well-done. Not too preachy (IMO, though I suppose if it's not what you're used to it might be a tad :giggle:) and Kirk Cameron is perfect
I didn't think it was cheesy at all. And I loved that they played Third Day and other similar groups :good:

I'm excited to see it. Our life group at church is planning to go but we're going to be out of town. Might be able to convince hubby to go another time. I can't wait!

We started to watch Facing the Giants and it was too cheesy for us (thus the assumption). :giggle:

The acting might be a little cheesy but the message is soooo worth it. You just have to remember it's not a large budget Hollywood film, it's filmed by a production company in Albany, Georgia.
DH & I saw it Friday night and it is fabulous. Just look past some of the acting and remember the message. I love that it's a good clean movie. I'm glad it did 4.5 mil over the weekend. I want it to send a message to Hollywood that all movies don't have to be blood, gore & profanity!!

I think Laura summed up my thoughts perfectly. It took me a few minutes (with both movies) to get past the "small picture" idea and really into it, but as soon as I did, I really enjoyed what I was seeing. It has an incredible message that sticks FAR beyond the knowledge that it's not a "Hollywood" movie.

Tamra, I don't blame you. I'm much more comfortable watching movies at home, especially movies that make me cry :) But I was excited to be a part of the starting weekend's success :good:

We just saw it last night and it was so good!!! It did take remembering that it was a small budget film, but it was actually much better than I was expecting. The message of the film is amazing and I thought that it definitely hit some huge issues for our society today in a clear, but tasteful manner. It was just very good and I highly recommend it!

We watched the movie trailer in church, then were asked to turn and greet our neighbor. Good grief! So many of the gals were all teary after JUST THE PREVIEW!

Yeah, I am really excited to see it. I'm with Tamra, though. I may be bawling so much that I should wait and see it at home . . .

Anyone know how long we'll have to wait to view it at home?

I don't know...it doesn't seem like it takes very long any more for things to go to DVD.

I heard something really cool about this...Kirk Cameron won't kiss any woman but his wife, so they dressed his wife up to look like the actress and put everything in shadow, so he could do the kissing scene. I think that is pretty darn awesome and romantic.

dh was telling me the other day that Kirk Cameron used to be an atheist, but now, he is a very committed believer and it was good to see a movie that so clearly portrayed a Christian message! I feel silly how much I am telling everyone about this movie, but it was just SO good!!

I am so excited. I'm going to see it this Saturday! Hubby & I are going with another couple from church. I'm almost beyond excited (I haven't been to a movie with my husband since before our son was born - yes that means its been over 4 years). Yippee!!!

I'm so glad you enjoyed it too, Jill! I always worry a bit about overhyping the movie...I didn't enjoy Forrest Gump at all because I'd heard how incredible it was. Nothing lives up to that kind of praise!! So I'm glad you enjoyed it ;)
