Hybrid Valentine Mailbox (http://www.thedigichick.com/gallery/showphoto.php/photo/142845/ppuser/7624)

There is a free template to create your own on my blog today Fresh Fish (http://julifreshfish.blogspot.com/2009/01/mini-hybird-mailbox-plus-free-template.html)

I'd love to see what other people have done with these cute little boxes!

01-13-2009, 12:45 PM
That is SO cute! :D

...and the mad rush to Target begins anew! I have to laugh just thinking about what Target executives are thinking about the way these mailboxes sell out! They've certainly taken the paper-crafting world by storm!

01-13-2009, 06:27 PM
Oh wow how cute.....I wanna do these....off to go hunt for them!

01-13-2009, 06:40 PM

01-13-2009, 08:33 PM
Okay, that is adorable!!

I was at my Target (Salem, Oregon - Lancaster) and they had a bunch of them. I wanted to grab one, but my husband said, "And then what would you do with it?" I couldn't think of anything. Argh. So, I didn't buy one. Argh. I should just get one to have it and look at it, huh?

01-13-2009, 08:44 PM
i've been wanting to pick up some of these too - they are sooooo cute!!

01-14-2009, 02:58 AM

01-14-2009, 08:16 PM

If I do, I might see if I can pick up more if Target still carries them :)

Here's mine from last year:

01-15-2009, 12:15 PM

01-15-2009, 12:15 PM

01-15-2009, 02:42 PM

01-15-2009, 05:51 PM
I've been to TWO and neither had them - - -argh!!!

01-15-2009, 06:30 PM

01-15-2009, 06:36 PM
I have 2 mailboxes left from last year. Yours is soooooo adorable! Thanks for the template!

01-16-2009, 12:45 AM
um so I shouldn't tell you that the targets here have quite a few? I wish I could get them for you....

01-16-2009, 03:09 AM
lol Darla! I like the idea of you getting hybrid!

01-19-2009, 11:47 AM
TARGET?!! NO WAY! I have to check mine out on the way home! I'm guessing with my luck they won't have them. :(

01-19-2009, 11:57 AM
ours had two left, one missing the flag. I can't wait to play with it :good:

01-19-2009, 12:59 PM
OoooOoooo, I love it! I will have to snag one and decorate it for my desk in my classroom! The students love looking at altered projects and my digiscrapping.

01-19-2009, 04:35 PM
So can you tell me what it is you used to adhere the paper to the mailbox? I use ModPodge as my adhesive for just about everything but I'm not sure if that will work on metal...????

I can't wait to put it together!!!!

01-19-2009, 08:06 PM
I got 3! WOO HOO!!!! Thanks for the heads up!

01-19-2009, 10:19 PM
I know you are supposed to sand the tin a bit so it removes the protective layer for the modge to actually stick to the tin...ah well at least that is what i would do! :)

01-20-2009, 08:56 AM
Awesome!! Thanks, Mari. I'd considered sanding it to let the Mod Podge stick, so I'm glad to know I would have done the right thing!
Maybe I have one more project for today (other than finding the kitchen counter and giving the girls a little play-time )

01-24-2009, 03:52 PM
Oh how cool! I work at SuperTarget :superman: and I just had a guest who bought it seems like all of them...I was even thinking those would be cool to alter!

01-24-2009, 04:53 PM
oh! I got 2 of these last night! I haven't had time to play yet, though...maybe tomorrow! :)

01-24-2009, 11:31 PM
Sinead, my friend - thank you!! I had checked 4 Targets (either by calling or stopping by) and NOTHING. I remember you posting that your Target didn't have them either. I saw this message before I headed out tonight, and thought - if Sinead was able to find them now, maybe I could!

So, after dinner, we went to Super Target. I found 1 white (with no lid) and 1 pink (with no lid)....and 3 silver lids alone. ugh..... So, on the way home we'd be passing by another Target. My sweet hubby agreed to stop for me and let me run in, and JACKPOT!! There were TONS of them there! I got 1 red and 3 white. I have 2 girls. I only *need* two, but I seriously couldn't stop myself from buying extras! YAY!

01-25-2009, 03:09 AM
oh my this is so cuuuuuuuute. love it

01-25-2009, 04:11 AM
Well I would love one...but super target does not even exist where I live. Bummer cause I have the perfect use for these.

01-25-2009, 08:12 AM
ShabbyShaz, we don't have any Super Targets. Do you have any regular ones? That's where I got mine! :good:

I have pictures of mine; just haven't done anything beyond that yet :giggle:

01-26-2009, 03:08 AM
Man...I'm bummed...my Target didn't have them! It's 45 min to a super target! The price I pay for living in the country!

01-27-2009, 05:36 AM
Nope...not a Target of any sort in Saudi Arabia...DH is posted here.

Not even a scrap store here...LOL.

If I want anything it has to be posted in.

01-28-2009, 05:45 PM
:giggle: Yeah, Saudia Arabia would make it a little trickier!! Sorry about that!!

I made my first one (and then found more at a second Target, so I'm going to play again soon!)
