How do you store your 12 x 12 papers?

Since I started digi about 5 years ago that my papers are all packed away. Not got a clue about what is even in there. I want to get them out so that I use them but need some sort of storage system.

I need photos ladies if you have them. I am such a visual person. :giggle:
Or even links to whatever it is you use if you purchased something.

LOL ! at some point i'll pull out all my old paper supplies for my daughter to play with during craft time ... for now it's all tucked away in a closet somewhere ;) can you tell i don't really want to do hybrid - haha - LOVE the results, but don't love the mess :)

LOL Dana! Sharyn, I have some slotted shelf thingys that my ex whipped up for me to hold my 12x12 papers but they get so dusty as I've got way too many! I've found that pizza boxes do really well and I just label the front with the manufacturers name on it and they fit nicely into my Ikea shelves which hold my 12x12 albums. Normal shelves aren't deep enough for the pizza boxes to fit, but they're a cheap outlay. I found some plain white boxes...not sure if you have pizza shops over there but most shops will give you a few or even ask if you can buy some from them as they wouldn't cost much.

I know Dana, that's why they are in the cupboard. :) But I really need to use them up. I may use them for cards this year and also get the kids to do some craft stuff with them.

I did challenge myself to only make had made cards this year, but gave up last month and did two digi, so now I am getting back on the wagon and sorting out my "schtuff" so that I am more inclined to use it.

Plus Andrea's question about scrap spaces here (http://www.thedigichick.com/forums/showthread.php?t=25159)made me think about sorting mine out. As I am going to lose my space in 6 months time I really should make it look how I want quickly and at least enjoy it for that time.

WHat I really want to do is scrap my printed photos - you know, that old stuff from way back when I had an SLR real film camera. I figure if I got sorted and they were out then maybe I might be inspired to use them.

I have several of these containers, they stack nicely and keep the dust out

The pizza box is a good idea. Mine would have Arabic writing all over them though as they don't do plain ones here. I may try that.

I have two of the Creative Memories ones in black but it's not enough. :)

I made my own 12x12 file folder holder out of chipboard and using my glue gun...I am too 'cheap' to pay $25 for my preferred Cropper Hopper upright storage system...I find that works the best having an upright system. I used this tutorial (http://www.stampinwithblythe.com/2009/03/magazine-files-downsized-into-card-files.html) but reformatted it so the final size is large enough for my 12x12 papers, I will see if I cannot take a photo for you later today... I am kind of lucky in the fact I had to do a BIG Purge before coming to the states so I only have ONE Folder full of paper! :giggle:

I've got one of these (http://www.paperwishes.com/categories/craft-storage-8.html) the middle one with 6 pull outs, plus... about 7 other individual stacking ones.

I have a nightstand that I picked up for $10 at a thrift store. It has two deep drawers that hold 12x12 paper perfectly. The only problem is I have to pull out the whole stack of paper when I am looking for something specific.... I like the pizza box idea. It would allow me to categorize and find what I am looking for so much easier. (Not that I really use it much, since I found digi...LOL)

I like the idea of upright storage - seems like you would get more in the space. Then Dh goes and tells me it should all be stored flat...LOL.

So not I am not sure. Trust him to have an opinion on paper!!

At the end of the day I don;t want to spend anything but use what I have. So unless he makes me a flat paper rack then perhaps I can make some holders like Mari has (that link doesn't work for me to the tut :() and just use them. I aim on reducing my paper stash anyway then printing what I need for hybrid as I need it.

One other thing I didn't mention is that I have a major dust problem here - after all I do live in a rather large sandpit, so everything has to be able to be closed. Even cupboard doors don't keep the dust out.

It worked for me today - those are so neat! I might try a variation of that with the thinner chipboard and alter it to fit 12 inch papers.

Thanks for the link!
