i've read the books, but haven't watched the show yet ... DH is not interested at all, so i'm going to get the DVDs and watch them while i work out this winter :) i can't wait!

do you like the books or show better? do they follow the books completely? (like each season of TB is a book or something?)

I watch the show and love it (although I thought the last 2 episodes of the season were disappointing and I am definitely on Team Eric and not Team Bill)!! Haven't read the books but I do intend to at some point.

I have read all the books, but I have never seen the TV show (I don't watch much TV). Love the books, they are a lot of fun!

I've seen all the episodes and am halfway through book #1. I seriously like the show much better so far. That's unusual for me...I always like books better.

BTW Crystal....You posted this in Nicole's CT subforum...lol

LOL! I knew I posted this somewhere! I went to my profile to see where it was, but it wasn't even listed in my posts, lmbo!!!! i will go delete it!!

Dana, I like the books much better than the show, but only because in the books I fell in love with Eric and they completely changed things in the show with him. However...on the show the Bill/Sookie bond is incredibly stronger so that makes the show a little better. In season one I couldn't stand Jason, so I thought that was annoying and in Season 2 I couldn't stand Maryann (who is actually Callisto or whatever in the books). they are just sooooooo different. The show is very very raunchy too, so be prepared...I close my eyes lots! LOL! Each season is based on one of the books. Season one was book one. Season two was book two...etc.

Tracey, I am sooooo team Eric in the books. You neeeeeed to read the books. If you are in love with Eric you will adore them!!

I hope that you girls read that haven't read..but as a warning...not a lot matches up...some does...but not a lot, lol!

I had exactly the same experience...I read the book while watching the first season and yeah I will be honest the book usually is always better but not this time round! :giggle:

Bill was always so hunky but Eric sure is getting more and more enticing! :giggle:

If you read all the books so many things happen that change your view of Bill and Eric... *sigh* You guys gotta stick it out and read all the books! I want to chat about them! :p

I've "read" all the books to date. I put "read" in quotes because I actually listen to the audiobooks (I do a LOT of driving for my job). I watched a few episodes of the show but found because they didn't line up with the books/descriptions it didn't always "work" for me. (Eric is Norse, if I remember correctly, and I couldn't get around his southern accent on the show).

Plus, it's one thing to read something that may be kind of gory, it's another to actually see it on the screen. (call me a wimp)

Eric doesn't really have a Southern accent on the show....but books/tvshows or movies are always like that for me. lol!

I've read all the books and have seen both seasons. I like the books much better! The show is ok, my husband is entertained by it. lol I don't like how things are so twisted from the books, like in the first season Jason and that girl get high on V and whatever. Also I didn't like how the maenad or whatever played such a big role in the second season. It really irks me too that Eric just doesn't fit the profile (for me) of a Viking. I watch it, it's entertaining, but I enjoyed the books more.

I totally agree Kelly!!! I think that the maenad part was to give Tara a story because neither Tara nor the maenad are a big part of the book at all. And I was bummed that Eric wasn't a bigger part of the seasons like the had been in the book. I wish that Sookie had taken him with her to the "party" like she did in the book. That would have been awesome! lol
