View Full Version : So, I got my meds changed

Back in July my dr put me on Zoloft with an emergency stash of Xanax for my anxiety. I had to go back to my dr this week to get it changed because apparently I drank the water here (or once I moved on base...which ever scenario fits :giggle:). You're not supposed to take Zoloft when you are pregnant so my dr switched me to Prozac which I just find hilarious for no good reason.

Anyway...thought I would share my big news. It's definitely a surprise to us. :thud:DH had gone to medical back in March/April to start the process to be snipped but crazy training schedules prohibited him from being able to go to the 2nd appointment. What's funny is that DH went back to medical to get another referral pushed through on Monday, which is the same day I took a home test. The dr's office confirmed it on Wednesday. I just hope that what the guy at medical told DH Monday afternoon isn't true. He said they may tell him they won't do a vasectomy if I am pregnant because it may be a emotional decision (or something along those lines I can't remember exactly how DH told me). All I have to say is that one of us better get fixed....lol 3 was about all I thought I could handle, now we'll have 4, I know that I'll be at my max.

So...who wants to take bets on whether it'll be a boy or a girl? :giggle: I've already got 3 boys.

Wow :thud: Congratulations! Apparently TDC's water is as potent as ever :scared:

At this point would you like a girl, or would it be easier to think about having a boy and not starting over (clothes, toys, etc)? DH's cousin had 4 boys and by the fourth she was really hoping he'd be a boy for that reason.

Wow!! Huge, shocked congrats!!!

We got rid of a lot of our baby things already, but I basically am thinking along those lines Charla. I still have a medium size storage bin of baby stuff, but it's all sorts from blankets to towels and shoes that we just didn't want to get rid of just yet. I was able to sell most everything else though. This of course after we decided that we were happy with our 3. lol Did the cousin get the 4th boy? Right now I don't have a big preference one way or another, I might later, as the reality sets in more. lol

It's always the way, isn't it??
She did get her fourth boy :D I know I was pretty shocked to get a boy after two girls, so I'd think even more so after a third of the same gender.
Yeah...I know what you mean about reality setting in. That can take awhile on a surprise :giggle:

Congrats, Kelly! What a surprise! I've got 3 girls, and that last little one was quite the surprise, too! Hopefully the switch to 4 isn't as chaotic as the move from 2 to 3--that was and has been chaos! :) You already have the 3 thing down, though, so 4 might not be a stretch for you. :) I'm hoping for healthy--there's good about another boy (easy because you've already got 3 and kinda know the ropes) or a girl (brand new--fun girly stuff--you won't be the only girl in the house). :)

Congratulations Kelly!! What a surprise though, huh? It's so funny you posted this because we were having lunch with a couple from church yesterday and he was telling us about a friend that had this exact same situation happen (the appt, the doctor's announcement, everything... You don't happen to know a Dean Carlson do you? :giggle:)

We also have three boys and I'm hoping for a girl next time. (If it turns out you're having a boy, please let me know and I can send you a box of boy stuff... we still have lots and we live in Ontario, CA so the postage wouldn't be too bad!) :jump:

Congratulations, how exciting! :)

I think as for Prozac - it has the longest record of safety during pregnancy, so most doctors like it during pregnancy for that reason!

Congrats on the news. I have four and it works out nice to have an even number of kiddos, even though it is ALOT!!!!! Three boys and one girl here.

Now off to tackle potty training...I'd like to get a break from the past 8 years of diapers for a few months....

I'm torn between wanting a girl so I can finally buy something that's not blue, black or brown :giggle: and not be so out numbered but I know boys. Everything except potty training has been *knock on wood* easy. Plus I have a couple of friends who have little girls who are just brats and one friend has a little girl who screams so much I cringe every time I'm on the phone with her.

We'll see. So far I feel the same as I did when I was first prego with the other 3, tired mainly and nauseous when I need to slow down and grab a bite to eat. I'm still waiting to hear from someone from the Naval Hospital about where they are going to send me since the hospital is "full". They have 1 more week for someone to call me.
