I need some opinions!! My sister and her husband started their own plumbing business this year (great timing, I know) and like lots of other people, are struggling with finances. He's looking for an additional job and she is thinking about making some oatmeal pancake mixes to sell. She's a wonderful cook and baker and her oatmeal pancakes are to die for! She's even looking into ways of making them so that all the buyer would have to add is water. I know she'd have a ready stream of customers from church, but I was wondering if it'd be worth it for her to open an etsy store and add some other things as she got going.

So... would you/have you/do you buy food items (either mixes or already baked) on etsy?

I wouldn't buy any foodstuffs on etsy. sorry!
I could be among the minority though!

That would be my concern, too.
She might be better off having a little website and starting a business that way. It would seem more legitimate. But then finding her stuff in a search...who knows!? She needs to get her pancakes on Oprah!

I have a friend whose husband sells marshmallow guns on Etsy and it's been quite a booming business!
