I am working on a very special project and I need your help.... on a "womanly" project.

I would love for you to share with me your favorite quotes. They can be mom related or just general quotes. Inspirational, serious or funny. ANYTHING works.....as long as it's PG. hahahaha If it is a quote that is not "yours" please include the original author.

Also, if you have any funny stories like you find in Reader's Digest...you know like kids say the funniest things type of stories......

If you need me to be more specific on either of these, let me know.

Also, these could possibly be published so please include the name you would like to appear with your quote or story.

I need lots, the more the merrier! I need them by this Friday 1/16.

This probably doesn't really apply but I enjoy that one that Dr. Phil uses about teenagers....or delinquent boys....or wayward husbands, "You know how to tell if they're lying? Their lips are moving!"

I'll try to think of something more appropriate than that! :giggle:

Had enough yet? No? OK, here are some great inspirational quotes:

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us most. We ask ourselves, 'Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, and famous?' Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It's not just in some of us; it's in all of us. And when we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.” – Maryanne Williamson

“Live with intention. Walk to the edge. Listen hard. Practice wellness. Play with abandon. Laugh. Choose with no regret. Appreciate your friends. Continue to learn. Do what you love. Live as this is all there is.” - Mary Anne Radmacher (http://en.thinkexist.com/quotes/mary_anne_radmacher/)

“Create a vision and never let the environment, other people's beliefs, or the limits of what has been done in the past shape your decisions. Ignore conventional wisdom.” Anthony Robbins (http://en.thinkexist.com/quotes/anthony_robbins/)

“Life is a gift, and it offers us the privilege, opportunity, and responsibility to give something back by becoming more” – Anthony Robbins

“The quality of your life is dependent upon the quality of the life of your cells. If the bloodstream is filled with waste products, the resulting environment does not promote a strong, vibrant, healthy cell life-nor a biochemistry capable of creating a balanced emotional life for an individual.” – Anthony Robbins

“In essence, if we want to direct our lives, we must take control of our consistent actions. It's not what we do once in a while that shapes our lives, but what we do consistently. (http://en.thinkexist.com/quotation/in_essence-if_we_want_to_direct_our_lives-we_must/297225.html)” – Anthony Robbins

“Live life fully while you're here. Experience everything. Take care of yourself and your friends. Have fun, be crazy, be weird. Go out and screw up! You're going to anyway, so you might as well enjoy the process. Take the opportunity to learn from your mistakes: find the cause of your problem and eliminate it. Don't try to be perfect; just be an excellent example of being human. (http://en.thinkexist.com/quotation/live_life_fully_while_you-re_here-experience/297088.html)” – Anthony Robbins

“It's not what's happening to you now or what has happened in your past that determines who you become. Rather, it's your decisions about what to focus on, what things mean to you, and what you're going to do about them that will determine your ultimate destiny.” – Anthony Robbins

“It's your unlimited power to care and to love that can make the biggest difference in the quality of your life.” – Anthony Robbins

“It is not what we get. But who we become, what we contribute... that gives meaning to our lives.” – Anthony Robbins

“Every time you suppress some part of yourself or allow others to play you small, you are in essence ignoring the owner's manual your creator gave you and destroying your design.” – Oprah Winfrey

“Breathe. Let go. And remind yourself that this very moment is the only one you know you have for sure.” Oprah Winfrey

Promise yourself to be so strong that nothing can disturb your peace of mind. Look at the sunny side of everything and make your optimism come true. Think only of the best, work only for the best, and expect only the best. Forget the mistakes of the past and press on to the greater achievements of the future. Give so much time to the improvement of yourself that you have no time to criticize others. Live in the faith that the whole world is on your side so long as you are true to the best that is in you!” - Christian D. Larson

“Each second we live is a new and unique moment of the universe, a moment that will never be again. And what do we teach our children? We teach them that two and two make four, and that Paris is the capital of France. When will we also teach them what they are? We should say to each of them: Do you know what you are? You are a marvel. You are unique. In all the years that have passed, there has never been another child like you. Your legs, your arms, your clever fingers, the way you move. You may become a Shakespeare, a Michelangelo, a Beethoven. You have the capacity for anything. Yes, you are a marvel. And when you grow up, can you then harm another who is, like you, a marvel? You must work, we must all work, to make the world worthy of its children.” – Pablo Picasso

“The most important human endeavor is the striving for morality in our actions. Our inner balance and even our very existence depend on it. Only morality in our actions can give beauty and dignity to life.” – Albert Einstein

“Don’t ask what the world needs. Ask what makes you come alive, and go do it. Because what the world needs is people who have come alive” – Howard Thurman

“To laugh often and much; to win the respect of intelligent people and the affection of children...to leave the world a better place...to know even one life has breathed easier because you have lived. This is to have succeeded.” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

“May we never let the things we can't have, or don't have, or shouldn't have, spoil our enjoyment of the things we do have and can have. As we value our happiness let us not forget it, for one of the greatest lessons in life is learning to be happy without the things we cannot or should not have.” – Richard L. Evans

“Carpe diem! Rejoice while you are alive; enjoy the day; live life to the fullest; make the most of what you have. It is later than you think.” -Horace

Let your heart guide you. It whispers, so listen carefully. ~Littlefoot's mother, Land Before Time

“The whole point of being alive is to evolve into the complete person you were intended to be.” – Oprah Winfrey

“Don't listen to anyone who tells you that you can't do this or that. That's nonsense. Make up your mind, you'll never use crutches or a stick, then have a go at everything. Go to school, join in all the games you can. Go anywhere you want to. But never, never let them persuade you that things are too difficult or impossible.” – Douglas Bader

How about a story.
WOrking with Special Needs kids can be fun, stressful but mostly it's rewarding.
A couple years ago we had a student who was having trouble writing his first & he last name. We always encouraged him to write both on every paper he got.
One day we noticed only his first name on his paper. We told him 'Don't forget your last name'
He tells us that it is already there. WE say 'But we don't see it. Can you write it again?'
He then says 'NO! It's there. It's written in invisible ink!!!"
How can you argue with that logic.

Want another?
I use scented lotion on my hands all day at work. Working with little ones & washing my hands all day really dries them out.
Last week when I went to my student, he was sitting with his 'I can't believe I have to be here. If they don't leave me alone I'm going to scream' look.
I asked what was wrong.
He tells me that his teacher said John (names changed) was an A+ student & so John wasn't his friend anymore!!!
I asked the teacher & she said she was just trying to encourage John to try his best by saying 'WOW!!! That is really A+ work'
So I went to get some lotion on & knowing how much my student LOVES my lotion, I put a little extra in my hands.
I told him to hold out his hand & placed some in it.
He broke out the biggest smile ever & said 'Mrs. Tiffany you always know just the thing to make me feel better.'
He was happy as a camper the rest of the day.

Another?
One of our students with Autism a couple years ago decided he was tired of sitting with his 1st grade class. SO he stands up, pulls down the back of his pants & shows everyone his butt.
Upon taking him out of the room he starts screaming, 'Oh No!!!! Oh Jesus No!!!'
He was then brought done to the Special Needs room & put in his cubby (we have those office partitions for each student to have un-distracted work).
He is in there crying for Jesus & saying Oh No over & over.
After a couple minutes to let him calm down we asked him what he did wrong.
He tells us 'We don't show our friends our underwear in class'

One more. If you need more I have a ton.

While working with a kindergartner in her Art class this year, she tells me she needs to use the bathroom.
I take her to the restroom, but shes very nervous because the 3rd graders are there.
I tell her it's ok that they won't hurt her & put her in a stall where she locks the door.
I'm waiting for like 10 min & call to her to ask if she's done.
She responds with 'Are they gone yet?'
I tell her that yes all the big kids are gone & it's ok to come out.
She says VERY loudly (mind you that there is a HUGE echo in these restrooms & you can pretty much her it all down the hall)
'Alright but I have to wipe my butt first!!'

Jacinda, those rock! Loved seeing quotes from Father Ted (I went to ND while he was still there) especially the one about the best thing a father can do for a child is to love their mother.
