So, talking to Charla on FB the other week made me think of this book that I had checked out from the library years ago--one that I wanted to add to my collection someday. Come to find out: it's now out of print. :(

So... I crossed my fingers and my toes and did the unthinkable! I purchased a book from a reseller on Amazon. The first book listed was the cheapest and also seemed to be in good condition. Well, it arrived yesterday and it is PERFECT! Whew! I'm so relieved/happy/ecstatic (and thinking about doing a little more shopping--LOL!).

I collect children's books and have ordered a few from resellers on Half.com. They have always been so gracious and go out of their way to get the books to me quickly. I guess they're trying to earn a living, too. Glad you had a good experience.

Ooo! I've not heard of that one. I'll have to check it out! With all the homeschooling things I do, I am ALWAYS running across out-of-print children's books (and price gouging, too). I'll have to check that out!

It's affiliated with eBay, I believe. I found a book that I ADORED in grade school and got a hard cover version in near mint condition. It had been at a grade school library, which made it even more special because the one I fell in love with then was one I had checked out of the school library! Totally cute.

And here I am trying to figure out how to get my many bookshelves of paper books Kindleized....

Hahaha! Well, I may be a huge geek, but there are still some things I don't want digitized. Books and magazines are still my good friends. :yeshuh: I feel like I'm 80 when I say this, but I don't get what all those young whipper-snappers like so much about the Kindle.

That's fantastic!
Yes, half.com is great. Also, abebooks (http://www.abebooks.com) is a fantastic place for homeschooling/Christian books. I haven't ordered anything from there yet but it's always the first place I look! (i'm just putting off buying any books as long as I can find them in MIL's library instead ;) )

Oooh, you must check out half.com! I've had such good luck selling stuff through them, as well as finding books and music. I've gotten tons of kid books through that site! I look for the ones that are less than pristine, because my kids trash stuff anyway.

Spoken like a true paper scrapbooker.

Hey... I'm working on the digi scrapping. I am! Wait until I start uploading some of the stuff I've made for some recent challenges?
