Formatting Guidelines

I'm a bit new to the digital scrapping world.

When making kits, are there guidelines to follow for making them? For example, what is a standard size for creating papers? What size for word art?

99% of the time papers are created 12x12 at 300dpi. Actually, all elements should be 300dpi for good quality. As for other elements, I think it just depends on the designer what size you want to make them. Hope this helps.
