View Full Version : Get it Scrapped - All About Me Challenge

Howdy, fellow scrappin' Chicks!

I'm here tonight with a lil' challenge for you. For this challenge, we'll be scrapping about ourselves.

If you're anything like me, you're the memory-keeper in your household... and as such, the focus of your layouts is other people -- the majority of the time, anyway! Every once in a while, though, it's fun (and cathartic... and necessary!) to make sure we document ourselves, as well.

I've always wanted to make a "37 at 37" (insert your age there) list layout... and when I first laid eyes on the "All About Me" collab, I couldn't wait to do it. Here is the page I came up with:

http://www.thedigichick.com/gallery/data/500/2011_08-15_37-at-37-for-challenge_web.jpg (http://www.thedigichick.com/gallery/showphoto.php?photo=129876&title=37-at-37&cat=500)

My layout uses TDC's "All About Me" Boutique Collab (http://www.thedigichick.com/shop/All-About-Me.html):

http://www.thedigichick.com/shop/images/D/tdc-aam_LRG.jpg (http://www.thedigichick.com/shop/All-About-Me.html)

Create a layout that is all about yourself, and which is formatted to be some form of a list. It doesn't have to be a "37 at 37" layout/list like mine... it can be "20 things about me"... or "10 things I want to do before I turn 60"... or "My 10 favorite things to do in the morning"... or whatever you can dream up (be creative!). That means, of course, that your page MUST include journaling! :)

You should be the focus/subject of your layout
Your layout must include at least one list (of any size/format... that part's up to you)
Your layout must include at least 2 photos
Your layout must include at least one heart

All layouts for this challenge MUST be posted here in this thread by Monday, August 29th before midnight, EST. You are welcome to upload your layouts to our gallery here at TDC. Be sure to tell us how you followed each step of the challenge in your description.
To qualify for the Grand Prize, you must use the "All About Me" Boutique Collab (http://www.thedigichick.com/shop/All-About-Me.html) for this challenge and fulfill all the requirements listed above.
You are not, however, required to use this kit in order to enter our general drawing. See the Official Rules post here in this forum for more information on our prizes for this weekend.

HAVE FUN! I can't wait to see what everyone comes up with. :woohoo:

OK people, who's with me? By the end of this weekend, I simply can't end up being the only one in this thread to post potential blackmail material on the internet (seriously... have you *SEEN* that photo on the lower left of my layout?! ha!). So please, jump in! I'm excited to see everyone's creations...

Oh yay! Our first couple of layouts are finally rolling in!! I am SOO excited! :)

Donna, I love yours. Especially your photo on the lower left. You give my "lower left photo," above, a serious run for its money!!! Don't you love the 80s?! Ha! LOVE IT!

Jenni, yours is awesome, too. I love the idea of capturing your "life" right now -- what you like, don't like, etc. -- so you can look back in 10 years and remember all of the little things you would have forgotten otherwise! Awesome!

Keep 'em coming, ladies!

Love this most recent layout, too! So pretty. Especially love the quote you used at the end. Well done! :)

Here's my list! I have lots of AAM layouts, but haven't done a music one in a while! -- hope it's ok that 2 of my pictures are really album artwork!

Ooooh, Rachel -- I love this! I might have to do a music layout, too. Hmm...

BTW, what font is that? It actually looks like an old typewriter (many typewriter fonts still look digital!)... and I have a wee typewriter font addiction *seeking therapy* HOOK ME UP!!!

08-28-2011, 07:32 PM
Thanks, Laura! That is VT Portable Remington...my absolute favorite typewriter font ever. It was free on one of the sites...maybe dafont.com? And what is this "therapy" you speak of? Not necessary...one can never have enough typewriter or handwriting fonts! (though years from now, anyone else looking at my pages will think my handwriting had multiple personalities!)

08-28-2011, 08:57 PM
OK, funny. My other fave distressed typewriter font is "My Old Remington" (used on my layout, above)... prior to seeing yours just now, it was the most "realistic" distressed typewriter font I could find (but it's not perfect for journaling... more for things like adding dates to pages, etc... it just never looked completely "right" for journaling, b/c it was sorta obvious a typewriter didn't type it). Anyway, I am now IN LOVE and can't wait to use it on something! :) Yeehaw!

08-28-2011, 09:14 PM
Ack! And I just found a typo on my list. Of course!

I have another typewriter font I haven't used yet...I'm hoping to fall in love with it. The guy who made it said he typed all the letters directly from his mom's typewriter...hence the name "Mom's Typewriter"!
