Welcome to our December Daily Album Workshop, brought to you by our talented Challenge Chick Ashley!

I can't believe it's already December. Time flies when you're having fun.
And since it's a new month, it's time for a new Workshop!
This month, we're gonna do something along the lines of a December Daily album. Or a P52, but it's P4. You've got your options. You can do either a December Daily, or a Weekly recap. Or do something in between (: If you've never heard of December Daily, it was started by Ali Edwards, and you can read more here (http://aliedwards.com/december-daily). Basically, you spend the month capturing and recording memories, every day. It's fun, I love seeing what people come up with. A lot of people go paper, or hybrid. You're welcome to do something completely hybrid, or you can do completely digi. It's up to you.
Here's how our workshop is gonna go. I'll post up a couple of prompts each week, in the post below. You can do one a day, or choose one and have that be the theme for the week. Or, you can do a theme and then choose your own prompts within that theme. It's pretty open. This is YOUR album, your ideas. Not everyone is going to have the same theme or memories, know what I mean?
So here we go. Who's ready to scrap about your December days, traditions, and life in general?
Here’s the fine print:
* You must use at least 75% Digichick Goodies on your layout to qualify for points.
*When you’ve finished your layout, come back to this post and leave a comment with a link to your layout. (Feel free to use our open gallery here at the Digichick (http://www.thedigichick.com/gallery/) if you need a place to upload your layout. We even have a spot just for challenge entries! (http://www.thedigichick.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=509))
*You will earn 1 Point for each theme you complete and an additional 5 points if you complete all parts of this Workshop challenge.
*For more information about our Chickie Points System, please see this thread here (http://www.thedigichick.com/forums/showthread.php?34471-Chickie-Points-System%21)
*The deadline for this challenge is December 31st.

THE THEMES & PROMPTS
- holiday preparation:
-- what are your traditions for prepping?
-- do you decorate all at once? or do you spread it out?
-- is your tree already up (if you celebrate christmas)?
-- do your children join in on the decorating?
-- do you have any december holiday traditions? do you make an advent calendar (if you celebrate advent)? are you participating in "elf on a shelf"? do you go on any special outings? what does your family do that's special this month?
-- favorite holiday season foods: do you have any foods that you love that are totally seasonal? me, i love peppermint oreos. what about you?
-- christmas wish list: do you have a wish list for this year? or maybe you have a "grown up christmas list"? share it (:
-- on the religious aspect- what special religious traditions do you partake in? i know december isn't only a season for christmas. hanukkah is this month as well, plus the winter solstice. and there's also kwanzaa. and there's also other ethnic traditions as well. what do you do with your family? do you celebrate something other than the major holidays?
- do you take family photos for the holidays? a lot of people have professional photos done, or do shoots for christmas cards. what about you? scrap one and tell us your story.
- do you travel for the holidays? or do people come to you?
- what are your "post holiday" plans? do you get a break to relax? or do you keep going with all the festivities straight through january?
- beyond the holidays:
-- talk about your week. what's the weather like? what have you done that was memorable?
-- goals for december.
-- photo a day- take one photo of yourself or your family each day, then scrap them all and talk about each one.
-- are you getting stressed yet? or are you one of the people who stay calm all season?
-- year in review- what have you done this year that amazed you?
-- 12 in 12: make a 12 for 12 page, focusing on 12 things you loved this month (or 12 things you want to do)
- one photo, one word- choose one photo from the past year and come up with one word to describe it. scrap it, and use that word as your title.
- what are your goals for the new year? do you have scrap goals? photography goals? personal goals? share them with us.
- are you a reader? if so, do you keep a reading list? my brother just got a kindle, and i put the kindle app on my macbook, so i'm looking forward to catching up on my reading. what about you? are there any books you're looking forward to reading, or any that you've read and loved?
- the holiday season for big movie releases is upon us. are you going to see any of the big movies this month? or are you looking forward to any big releases in january?

Jamie, I have a crochet group that I love to go to. We have such a blast! We girls really know how to have fun, huh?! I don't get to go weekly, but we try to get together at least once a month.
Here's one I did of decorating our tree this year. This was really the first year my DD was an integral part of decorating it. I loved how the bottom of the tree (where she could reach) was VERY DECORATED. I mean, some of the branches had 3 or 4 ornaments on just that one branch!

What a fabulous page Kate! I love everything going on and those lights are so cool.
Yes, our knit group is the best and I look forward to it every week. They actually meet multiple times a week, depending on when one can make it, so there's always a chance to get out and have some fun.

Here's day 2! Do you want us to keep posting our layouts here in separate entries? Same entries?
Friday was all about music. I started piano lessons!
12-03-2011, 11:57 PM
awesome pages, ladies!
@ kate: i LOVE the bright colors (: and haha, i love that your little one decorated the bottom of the tree!
@ jamie: oo piano lessons! and if you want to post every time you have a new page, it's easier for people to go comment. but if you wanted to keep track of everything, you're welcome to use only one post and keep editing in your layouts (:
