Do you have java and stuff for your browser, that could be your problem, that it can't load those components??

I am so not an expert but I think the little red x means you dont have the right version of flash loaded.... IO have had that problem at other sites I've been to....I am just assuming that the DC chat server is a flash one though.... if it is you could try going to the flash web site and downloading the newest version????

I have managed to get into the chat ok, but it seems they are having a few shop issues... anyway this is the stuff from the chat's site about difficulty to connect so hope this might help someone... nothing worse than not being able to chat when you want to! Especially an important event like this!

If you are running a version of a Microsoft Windows, or a BSD/*NIX variant ™ and see only a broken link icon, you will need to download a copy of the Java™ Virtual Machine in order to run our application. You may download Java™ Support for your browser from the link below:
Sun Java™ Plugin (http://www.java.com/)
We strongly recommend upgrading using the most modern version of your web browser available today. Certain browsers (esp. Netscape 5 and below) running on Macintosh platforms are not capable of running our software due to issues outside of our control. We recommend that Macintosh users use Netscape 7.0, or MSIE 5.x. As WebTV does not support Java™, WebTV users will not be able to access our chat rooms. We recommend that Apple Macintosh users upgrade to OS X 10.3 or later.
Users behind firewalls may need to inform their local IT/network administrator to allow TCP connections on the port in use by SigmaChat. Contact your chat room owner (webmaster) to determine which server and port number this chat room has been allocated. Your chat room owner can find this information in the Help section of their chat room's control panel. SigmaChat generally uses ports 8000-8009 at client#.sigmachat.com, where # may be any integer. Additional information can be found at http://support.raidersoft.com (http://support.raidersoft.com/status.pl) or by contacting your chat room administrator.
AOL Members: Some users have reported that the built-in AOL browser has difficulty connecting to our service, or does not load colors/emoticons properly. To resolve this, minimize your AOL connection, and use the Internet Explorer browser that came with your operating system to access our chat rooms.

After trying for an hour now....I STILL cannot get in. This stinks. I have updated everything, I have tried Explorer and Firefox, and still CANNOT connect. If someone gets the password to this crop, would you kindly pass it on to me at desertrose.shari@gmail.com I can't believe this. Maybe the host of this chat will read these and get us all the password. I think thats only fair after spending all this time trying to get into the chat. Thanks for letting me vent........

I am sorry that you weren't able to get in the chatroom - I had problems too and then it was a bit crazy in there with all the people. However, there is a way still for you to get the pw for the kit. Check out this thread:

There were a lot of peple that could not get in, there were just too many people. I think 300 at one time, the chat room just was not able to handle so many people. Lol! It was crazy in there. I went in an half an hour before the crop started and already there were 150 people. Just do not despair, there is another way to get the password just follow the link to the thread she has mentioned to get more details.
