View Full Version : Recipe challenge April 6th

04-04-2012, 03:27 PM
Hi everyone, I'm back with another recipe challenge for this month!

I'm going to keep it nice and simple for you with just a few rules :

Use just one paper on the layout
Use at least one frame
Use some sort of stamp or paint splat on your paper
Use white space as part of your design
Include journalling as part of your design (Mine has elements wrapped around it, but you can do whatever suits you!)

I used the gorgeous Pretty Little Things (http://www.thedigichick.com/shop/Pretty-Little-Things.html) kit from our guest Sugary Fancy Designs (http://www.thedigichick.com/shop/Sugary-Fancy/)

Here’s the fine print:

You must use at least 75% Digichick Goodies on your layout to qualify for points.
When you’ve finished your layout, come back to this post and leave a comment with a link to your layout. (Feel free to use our open gallery here (http://www.thedigichick.com/gallery/) at the Digichick if you need a place to upload your layout. We even have a spot just for challenge entries (http://www.thedigichick.com/gallery/showgallery.php?cat=509)!)
You will earn 1 Point for participating in this challenge.
For more information about our Chickie Points System, please see this thread here (http://www.thedigichick.com/forums/showthread.php?34471-Chickie-Points-System%21).
The deadline for this challenge is April 30th.

I'm very much looking forward to seeing your takes on the challenge, so get scrapping!

Great recipe, Jude. So we can use as many elements/stamps/brushes as we like?

Yes, Jen - feel free to (digitally) have at it with the painty stuff :).

Love this challenge, Jude. Here's mine. Can you find the frame?

It's actually the green scalloped paper at the bottom. You didn't say it had to be used as a frame! I hope that's okay!

Here's my version: {ETA: I am going to go back and add credits since I didn't write this. It is a song by John Mark McMillan.}

Thanks for the challenge - I managed to use 1 paper - and I worked in a frame! my "splat" is the spilled flour -hope that counts. Etc by Danyale's Recipe box was perfect for my LO - but I also used elements from Kimeric Kreation's My Country Kitchen. Linked for full credits.

Ooh good one! I can't wait to try this :)

Just a quick question: Can I add a photo blend or is that a no-no? :)

Oooooh, I love the paint splats and splatters. Reminds me of finger painting and that is a completely under-rated art form in my opinion, LOL! Looking great ladies! :)

You can add anything else tropt :)

No time right now but I'll be back to gush over the layouts properly!

This was a great recipe! (although one paper was tough for me, too!) Thanks for the push to get this page done- you will likely see more from this weekend, it was a terrific one, 2 years ago now!
