View Full Version : Resolution and Year-long projects challenge - May 4th

05-01-2012, 03:40 AM
Can you believe we are in May already??

Anyway, I hope you are ready to keep on working on those resolutions, OLW, to-do (or not-to-do) lists, challenges and other projects for the year. We are many to take some kind of resolutions (I'll use this one word for practical purposes, to avoid the long list above, but don't feel limited by it!)... and many to forget about them come February! :raise hand:

I invite you to join me in my year-long journey to a better me. I hope we will support each other, laugh together, celebrate our victories and help us overcome the bumps on this road. Each month, I will suggest a theme or journaling prompt (linked to the Monthly Collab's theme) to help you spark your creativity, but don't feel like you have to follow it exactly to participate. The only mandatory requirement is to create a LO about your resolutions (again, I use this word loosely).

It can be a check-up LO: how you've been doing, what were your successes and your struggles, what you will change (or not) and why. It can be a visual reminder for the coming month (or week), especially if you focus on a different area each month. It can follow the theme / journaling prompt I will suggest. Whatever you pick, just make sure to journal and to focus on your resolutions/goals/OLW/etc.

This month, the collab is called Roots And Wings (http://www.thedigichick.com/shop/Roots-and-Wings.html) and its theme is Growth. I recently read an article on SparkPeople about how useful it is to compare yourself with your ideal self, or rather to ask yourself: "What would my ideal self do?" That inspired this month's suggested (but not mandatory!) journaling prompt: tell us about what the "child you" would think of the "grown-up you"? How far are you from the ideal self you thought of when you used to say "When I grow up, I will...."? Are your resolutions helping you move towards this ideal self or is your goal completely different of this child's dream (being a princess, anyone?)?

Get inspired by these ideas or create your own resolution-centered LO, and share your page!

My LO, created with the monthly collab " (http://www.thedigichick.com/shop/A-New-Me.html)Roots and Wings" (http://www.thedigichick.com/shop/Roots-and-Wings.html) (including one of the gorgeous templates!):

I don't do resolutions. I mean, I rarely make them and when I do I've already forgotten about them by January 15. And I lose to-do lists, so there aren't really any documents supporting a year long project :)
I was inspired by your layout to think about what would my child self think of me. And I was surprised by what this prompt made me feel. I don't normally think of myself as very confident, but perhaps....
