View Full Version : Pinterest Challenge - August 3rd
07-20-2012, 05:30 PM
Welcome to August!! I don't know about you, but I am NOT ready for school to start. This is my oldest daughter's Senior year in high school .... Where did the time go??? Anyway, to start the month of August off, I thought we would have a pinterest challenge. I don't know about you, but I pin away and then don't do anything with them. So your challenge is this ... find something on Pinterest and do it! I don't care what it is (cooking, hair, nails, photography, scrapping, etc.), but I was to see what you pinned (the original picture & link to give credit) and then I want to see your version. So if you made a receipe, show us the picture you pinned on Pinterest and then a picture of your final product. You can scrap or just show the picture, but I want to see the original and the "proof" that you were creative!
Here is my Pin:
Here is my version:

I made a birthday present for one of my friends following this tutorial:
Here's mine. I printed off a paper from Dawn's Everyday kit to wrap around the brown paper bag (which apparently are not sold in the UK so I had to improvise and make my own from paper  )

I have tried making a few pinterest things, but they didn't work - not like these great success stories!! I tried one of those jars with gloopy glitter in, you shake it and then give it to a crazy kid who needs to calm down and they are supposed to hold it, and watch the glitter settle to the bottom. Hmmm, my glitter bits are too tiny, or my gloop is to something, because the glitter is hard to watch and takes way toooo long!! Anyway, that was the most recent, there have been others too, but I love the challenge idea, so I guess I'll have another go at something!

I had a go!!! I liked the idea of this quick and easy journal for my daughter who is just getting interested in keeping a journal, so I had a go at making some fun and simple pages for her to fill out about the summer holidays. This is the original
and here are some (terrible) pictures of a few journal pages I made using Wishing Well Creations "Picket Fence" and "pinwheel" kits

This is GREAT Corrin!!!!! I love the whole idea and how you made it your own!

Very cute, Corrin! Love your take on the journal! I'm sure your daughter will love it. :)

Shoot! I just realized dinner 2 nights ago was inspired by pinterest...but I didn't take any pictures of my own version. Oh well. I'll just have to go cruising for some crafty inspiration! :)

I made this a few days ago. I really love the way it turned out and my crappy cell phone picture doesn't do it justice.

So I was feeling my sweet tooth today and made these:
Not quite a success yet...they need to freeze a little longer for the middle to have more substance (right now it gooshes out when you bite in) but other than that they are tasty! (Oh, and my picture is terrible, but I'm afraid they won't last until tomorrow when the light is better.)
08-14-2012, 08:52 PM
Yummmm!!! That one isn't fair because you can't share!! that looks amazing!
08-14-2012, 10:41 PM
