What a week!

As I posted in the gallery, my oldest son, Dane (8) had a MRI yesterday. We are still waiting for the results.

My husband just got a call that his aunt had a heart attack and is on life support. The family had a big falling out about a year and a half ago, but before that they were very close. Please keep his family in your prayers.

I want to thank you all for your prayers and post a little update.

Dane's dr's office called and said they won't have the MRI results until next week and that the doctor is out of the office till Thursday so that is the soonest we will here.

Scott's aunt is still on life support. She has some kind of blood infection and her temp was still at 101 yesterday. My MIL got a flight up yesterday and we picked her up at the airport. The kids are thrilled to see her, but it's a shame it's under these circumstances. :(

I'm glad you were able to post an update, Rachael. What a tough time. I'm sure the extra waiting and the family drama don't add ANYTHING positive. I don't have any update on Scott's aunt other than she is waiting to be moved to Boston.

As for Dane, I just called the dr's office. A nurse hunted down the results while I waited and then told me that the dr would have to call me to give me the results! If everything was fine, wouldnt she just have SAID that!????????????????? I am FREAKING OUT waiting for the phone to ring!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! !!!!!

Sometimes it's just policy for the doc to explain results, especially if it's complicated or confusing. I hope that you hear soon what's going on, and I'll be keeping you and your family in my prayers.

I spoke with Dane's eye doctor this morning! The MRI did not show any growth behind his eye causing the fat prolapse. The MRI did note swelling in his sinuses and some fluid as well, which the doctor will report to Dane's PCP, but he didn't seem concerned about it! Dane doesn't need to go back to the eye doctor for a year!

To answer your question, he has a large "bubble" of fat under his left eyelid. Its been there for at least 6 years and it has increased in size. They have been watching it and suddenly decided 2 weeks ago they should get an MRI, apparently to be sure there wasn't a tumor causing the fat to prolapse. Its such a weird thing and it usually doesnt bother him too much... he has used drops for it, but other than that, it hasn't been a big deal.

I am SO glad to hear your good news. I know that had to have been scrary! It is crazy to me how come they never just tell you things are okay. I understand that the doctor should give bad news, but if it's good- it sure would save alot of worry if they just let us know! Anyway, procedure... I know. So happy for your family.

Praise the Lord! Glad your son is in the clear - will still pray for family mending though. Family discord unravels many things :(
