Very sad news

My little cat Bidule died this morning. We don't know if he's been poisoned or hitten by a car, but he had no apparent wounds... My boyfriend and I are so sad, I've never been that sad for an animal before, but he was the cutest ever. hope he did not suffered before he died.

He was the baby of my sister in law's cat... and she (the cat, not my SIL) is probably pregnant again, so maybe we'll have a Bidule 2 in a few months... I can't stop crying since 3 hours, I didn't go to work this afternoon. I keep telling myself that's ridiculous to be that sad for an animal, but I can't help it!

It is NOT rediculous! Hell, I cried over a fish the other week :sarcastic . Our pets are part of our lives... it's hard to get that part go, no matter what.

I remember about it, Leah, he got attacked by a dog. I felt so sorry for you, I remember being happy for Bidule that there was no dog in the neighbourhood... As you said, it's difficult to lose a family member, and he definitely was: we use to talk about him as "our baby", joking at the same time about these couple without children that treat their pet as a kid!

Chloe I am so sorry for you....I saw your layout of your cat the other day and it made me smile at the playfulness you caught. We also lost our kitten two weeks ago and it was the hardest thing I had to tell my girls. We have had several deaths in our family and it has been tough on them realizing this happens. My heart just broke when my 5 year old was in church kneeling and praying well after the entire congregation was seated and then when she finally sat - to see her eyes were red from tears. She asked me to do a layout about it and I did even though I really didn't want to share this aspect of my life. Funny how a little girl understands the need and reason to scrapbook the difficult things in our life.....we still cry together when we see it but thankfully we have another cat that is being "loved" more so now by the girls.

Thank you Darla, this really helps. I think I'll make a "good bye LO" for Bidule one day, but not right now, it's too tough to look at all the photos of him I have! Now I have ot go in the backyard to bury him... what a difficult task!

I'm so sorry Chole. Pets are a part of our families and they go we grieve. I know I would grieve if I lost my dog, Buckwheat. He's 9 years old now. So I know what you are feeling. You go right ahead and grieve and don't feel silly about it. It is part of life.
