The 'Nobody Loves Me' thread got me thinking so I have to share. Have you noticed that life in general has gotten more bogged with cell phones, internet, instant everything? These things that we love dearly that 'make our life easier' has made us busier than ever. You hear the excuse from everyone about them being busy - like they are the only ones. (i cant help but think...'get over it cause we are all busy')
The other day I was out with a friend and our kids and she was talking about how she MAKES time to keep up with friends, and she is tired of hearing people wine. Im so with her on this one.
Last year I rarely did any scrapbooking unless it was on a plane to the next event or because I had to for work. I lost the enjoyment in it. This year with my son bugging me I finally decided to make time no matter what to scrapbook a few times each week with him for 1/2 hour each night. We got hooked on the challenges and ususally do 2 each week. I got past the guilty feeling of 'I should be working'. (i work from home most of the time so work is always here)
The point is
- there will never be time unless you make it
- remember who you love in your life and spend time with them
- work will be there tomorrow
- if you want to do something DO IT (housework can wait)
- play with your kids as they grow up too fast
- send real thank you notes not email ones
- send an actual gift not a gift certificate
- talk to someone on the phone thats attached to the wall, not the cell phone while your on your way to somwhere
- send an actual letter in the mail (the paper kind, they do get there)
- turn off your cell phone, people wont die if you dont answer it (heck go out on a limb and leave it at home for a day and if it makes you feel better leave a message on it that you are out for the day)
- sit and enjoy looking at other peoples scrapbook pages in the gallery and leave sincere notes
- make a home cooked meal, not one from a box
- wash the dishes instead of using the dishwasher
Anyway life is calling and the baths need to be run for the night. Then im going to read my boys some books and laugh and tuck them in all snug and of course kiss the turtle my son is attached to about 50 times. Then i'll grab my fav cup of tea and go back to work, but not until im ready cause its not going anywhere.
For what its worth just my two cents on a busy life.
Night!
