I admit it.

My name is Rachel, and I am biscrapual. I do both paper and digital scrapping. :)

So, as you've seen from recent posts, I'm putting my current house on the market, and I've bought new construction.

That means I've been packing! :)

Paper Supplies: 17 boxes and counting (12 small uhaul boxes, 5 uhaul cube boxes)
Digital Supplies: 1 computer and probably a half cube box (for all those burned CDs and software CDs)

Of course, the computer is still up and running, while the paper supplies are going (mostly) into storage. Except for those 5 cube boxes, those are my "stash" for the next few months.

OMGosh, Rachel! It's it funny when you pack it how much it really is??? I'm going to purge a bunch of my stuff! I'm donating a basket fun for a raffle at out Egg Hunt and giving a box to my neice for her birthday, so my stash will be a little lighter!

I used to be biscraptual. Now I am all digital. Last month I gave all my paper supplies to my sis, my niece, and my church. That was 3 boxes that were around 100 pounds, total, give or take some. I don't really know. What I do know is that I now have a lot more room in my computer area!

Did I mention I've already been sorting and purging....3 full boxes to a friend who leads 2 girl scouts troops, 1 Priority Mail envelope to a friend in Florida, 2 years worth of magazines to a friend who just discovered scrapping.....

We'll see how much paper stuff I do while I'm doing apartment living....it could be that I will have gone totally digital by the time I move into this new house. Just don't tell DH, I still want a craft room to myself! :D

Oh such a touchy subject! I would consider myself biscraptual... but I don't think Ive done a paper LO since...oh...october or november! I am still on one paper DT, but we've had a long break so nothing for them either. Now, I use to use my entire office as my scrap room, and yes, I filled it. Now, I've consolidated it to 1/3 of the room but I still have a TON of stuff I'm sure I'll never use. I'm sorry to say that I am so out of touch with the paper world that I wouldn't be able to tell SEI from KI from Scenic Route anymore. One good thing about that though... besides the WACOM I just purchased a couple days ago, I haven't spent much on scrap supplies in a LONG time. I use to spend about $100 per month!

Laura, I feel that one! My monthly budget was in that ballpark, too. It's nice to save a little of that each month. We just combined my scrap room and our office to give the kiddos a playroom. I was a little skeptical at 1st, but since I'd been spending more time in the office on the computer, it was the perfect "marriage."

I added 4 more boxes to my total yesterday! :)

Today's the big push.

By the time today is done:

- Finish packing up sb room
- Finish packing up to "declutter" master bedroom and bathroom
- Do all house cleaning with DH (surfaces gleaming, etcetera)
- Have all pictures for real estate listing taken (my mom is my agent, and we have a better camera to take pics)

i still paper scrap every now and again...make lots of cards, too. but honestly, i can do almost everything i want to digitally that i can on pp....and if i can't then i just try and make it LOL! :) someday i'll prolly be all digital with the exception of my card stuff. right now my stash is pretty low, too...since i've been purging and cleaning out for about 6 months now. :)

Yeah, I still CANNOT bring myself to buy a premade card. LOL I love to make them and really, that's the only thing I've been doing with my stash for about 6 months now. Man, with all the PP I have I'll be making cards 'til my grandkids are born!

You know what's funny? 6 months ago I would NEVER consider giving up my studio...ever! Heck, I took the master bedroom in our current house. LOL But now, Jaime and I have been talking about what we want when we get back to the states and can buy a house. I actually decided that a nice huge family room would be cool... where the girls and I can have our desks and the office... one huge room where we can all hang together no matter what we are doing at the time. Funny how things can change so drastically in a year. LOL

Oh yeah...amazing how things change in a year!

I never would have considered keeping my paper supplies "out of sight" - but that's precisely what we are doing in the new house. It will be a crafts room, with all the paper supplies in the walk-in closet (so I can shut the door on the mess) and work surfaces around the walls in the room. So I could conceivably have a sewing machine or quilting or something else going on in there as well....

Well i combine the two, I tend to "mount" my digital designs on coordinating paper, just for an added pop, i have a few 8x11 books, and since most things i scrap are 12x12 size to begin with, its just easier that way!

I just attended two great classes by Traci Bautista at Artfest 2006. I haven't been doing any paper stuff lately, but it was good to get back into the swing of things again. She uses so many different kinds of paper and lots of free scraps (used envelopes, Kinko's bags, USPS mailers, etc.). I have a new inspiration to get through some of my stored supplies to use in a mixed media book (fabric and paper).

Anyway, there was a room called "Art Asylum" where they put out tables upon tables upon tables of people's junk/supplies (one person's junk is another's treasure) so you could take it and incorporate it into art. It was a great idea and an amazing thing to experience.

So if you are no longer using your paper stuff, sort through and donate it to a kids' art center in your neighborhood. Art keeps the spirit alive.
