Hello, everyone!
I'm Becca - totally new to scrapping. I like digital because I'm more familiar with it, but I'm a bibliophile and completely addicted to paper, paper and more paper. I have two businesses, a daughter, and a husband. Rachel is 1 1/2 and we giggle all the time. My husband is finishing a double-major and I have a BA in Linguistics. We speak Spanish, German, Arabic, and Armenian. With a little French and Latin thrown in. We love to travel and dote on our daughter. I'm a HG survivor (anyone else?) and look forward to getting to know you all!

Thanks for making me feel so welcome! I was totally blown away by all the messages! This is now my favorite place to come.
To Marsha,
HG is Hyperemesis Gravidarum. Also known as the Mummy Flu. You're sick for 9 months, then you're a Mummy. Just kidding - you know women who are sick or nauseous the entire time? Well, Hyperemesis means you throw up the whole time. And HGravidarum is where it's life-threatening: you have to be on IV the whole time. Sometimes expensive medications work: in my case, Zofran did. (Chemotherapy drug for cancer patients). Enough that I was only nauseous and stopped throwing up. But I lost weight the entire pregnancy. So that's HG. Sometimes the meds don't work. In the end, our little girl cost $50,000+. But we survived. :) Ironically, usually the baby does extremely well.
It's very uncommon to have it so severely, but it does happen. I just threw that in because I know how many talented and wonderful women scrap and want to give my support to anyone who suffers (or has a relative who suffers) from HG.
But I'd still do it again. Rachel was worth everything. :D

OH! Okay... (I took med terminology so I knew once it was spelled out, lol!) BUT, I didn't realize that this was actually a 'condition'! My sis-in-law had that! She had to be on a constant IV... poor girl... so I know (sort-of) what you've gone through... makes you that much more appreciative of the miracle of life! :D (My sil didn't have it as bad, though...) I'm so glad you guys are doing good now! Thanks for explaining to a dummy like me! lol!

Marsha,
I'm totally impressed that you knew what it was just from the name. It actually sounds like your sil had it worse. I only had to go in for the IV a few times - the Zofran worked like a charm. I was sick, but could still be up and about. I feel really bad for the ones who have to have the IV the whole time. I tell you, women are amazing! They are tough!
And ones who scrap are super-creative.
Guys, any advice on digital cameras? I want a very professional camera, with high shutter speed and at least 5 MB pics.

Welcome, Becca!
I didn't even realize that being sick like that all 9 months had a name (it was a long time ago when I had my kids!) I had to go on IV's with both of my girls, and it was awful. I have a friend who had IV's constantly, too. Miserable stuff...but the end result is worth it.
Anyway, welcome!

Welcome Becca! Now I will know better than to ever complain about my pregnancies - you had a much tougher time than me! I'm glad it all turned out well.
