Hi all. I have some art bush files I got from Kazzoodle and I cannot get them open. I have PSE3 and I just cannot get them open. The file extension is .ABR. Does anyone have some instructions on how I can open these up? Thanks.

Nonnie... right click and copy the file, then go to My Computer, on your desktop, Programs, Adobe (if you have that file) then Photoshop Elements. There should be another file in there that says presets, then open the file that says brushes, then right click in an empty area and paste. After that...go to this link

I think it's written for PS not PSE so I don't know how acurate it will be, but this is the best advice I can give. :) Hope that helps!

Let me know if that doesn't make sense LOL.

Yes, as Ronee said, move the ABR file to the Brushes folder in your PSE3 Presets. These are 'brushes'. You know those black frames of mine that you have? Well, you can also use those through your brush tool on your tool bar. This way you can easily change the size and color of the images.

Try that tutorial Ronee gave you and if you still have questions, let us know.

also, you have to restart PSE once you get them moved to the right spot. AND there is a chance they may still not work --- not all PS brushes are compatible with PSE.

seems silly that not all PS brushes would work with PSE... i mean... if they're all ABR files...

I understand it to be a "backwards" compatability issue. So not all the newest PS brushes would even work in earlier versions of PS. It's easy to work around if a .png file is included like many digital designers do, but for general PS brushes, that may not be the case.
